Post

Ah thanks Daniel! Your own kindness shines forth in every interaction you have with people, both offline and online ❤️ The river will be a more permanent fixture once the sun has the decency to return to us again!

you have an outsized influence on the js ecosystem you're one of the first names I often see recommended for programmers to learn from I think I probably have a lot to learn from you too (I need to watch more of your streams for sure!)

you're SO talented very approachable and you have a very nice, conversational approach to thinking aloud which I think must make you very easy to follow and I really appreciate the way you are switched on emotionally, not just technically

I am not sure you realise how respected and valued you are multiple people have mentioned you by name to me as being one of the best/most helpful TS wizards your reputation is considerable and the time you spend to help others is not unnoticed

Ah, good point. Allow me rephrase out of respect for the original authors and the rest of contributors 🫰. A guy who worked/contributed heavily on changesets. By making it more awesome and reliable. To the point that to this day, we still can use it.

You are one of the best devs I know. An inspiring, positive, calm, and thoughtful leader and role model for many. If you were a superhero, your power would be controlling chaos.

I love the way you present, some people need a bunch of slides, you don't... It's an art to keep an audience entertained by just the power of well crafted words, and you are a master painter in that art. (Thought instead of a reply, I'd return something after all the kind words I saw you write here)

you're a really talented speaker too! enjoyed our time together in middlesbrough - what a conference! I think sometimes you can just tell that someone is an expert in something from the moment they open their mouth - that was definitely the case for you

always love your avatar - it always feels like you have a secret wisdom (possibly via a deal with dark powers) would love to know how you found your sabbatical and I really respect the time you spend to help people via mentoring, videos, podcasts and so much more

You're an inspiration for me on so many levels. I admire your productivity, kindness, positivity, friendliness… It really shows that you love coding, which I feel the same way about, and it's very nice to have the opportunity to talk to like-minded people.

Thank you! I completely agree: our goal should be to craft high-quality solutions, regardless of the tools or frameworks. Embracing a ‘web artisan’ approach allows us to be more creative and adaptable.

you're a great speaker (really enjoyed meeting you at armadajs!) and have a gift for really engaging writing even now, browsing your blog, it was hard not to get sucked in it's clear you also have the engineering depth to back up what you write looking forward to seeing what you launch this year

Was awesome meeting you and hanging out as well! Appreciate the kind words 🫶🏽 Seriously need to get back to writing… Got some things lined up, so stay tuned! You, yourself are also a great speaker. Also, you are one of the most kind, friendly, and down to earth person I’ve met. You OSS rockstar!

(also, reading through some of your replies: this is a brilliant idea for a thread, you've got some wonderful things to say about people, and this feels like a great thing that we should do a lot more as a community!)

you seem to be able to see ‘under’ commonplace things - a rare gift love this take bsky.app/profile/elly...

guys, hot take, annual performance reviews cause immense pain for neurodivergent folk. it explodes my pda (persistent desire autonomy) by making me feel like a subordinate, tries to reduce me to a number, reinforces comparing me to other people, … (continued)

Thank you Daniel. ❤️ I’m in awe of your talent, not only in leading Nuxt but for making the time/energy to pursue other projects AND to brighten peoples days with your kind words. Hope we can meet at some point soon!

Oh wow! Can I print this on a t-shirt? 🥰 I would say yes, you're right. Actually, that's something that some managers have told me in the past. So, do you have a crystal ball or is it your superpower? 🤩

I fear I may make your _new_ job harder, because we haven't introduced each other at all. And I couldn't resist to know how much left is in your pocket (or bottomless bucket?) of positivity?

Your hunch speaks volumes of your wisdom. You're right, at least in my case. Is quite a challenge to live where I am... Rewarding though! It's a journey that continuously teaches me lessons about my inner self. And like you wrote, others too!

I’m honored to hear that from you, as you are at the top of my role models in OSS world and as a person. I’m glad we met and we will meet again in the future. Maybe I will try bouldering next time 🧗‍♂️

Reading the thread and replies here gives me so much joy 🤩 You are the best. The world doesn’t deserve you 🥰

Right back at you! I hope our paths cross multiple times in 2025. If you ever find yourself in London please stop by for a coffee or lunch or beer 💚💚

Well gee, thank you! 😊 I can only aspire to be such an asset, whether or not the dev scene here is aware of it is a different story, haha. Here's hoping we meet again!

You always find new ways to send positive vibes into the world. It’s quite remarkable and appreciated! With every tap on the keyboard you’ve managed to brighten someone’s day with this thread 🙂

It’s probably the penguin. When the revolution comes, no one will mind cos it will be the cutest revolution. But you are very kind! Too kind perhaps. I genuinely believe the sharpness is necessary at times, it is intentional, but balance is important. I think I misjudge sometimes.

I don’t really do takes on people, but I’ve loved all of our interactions! You seem to be a force for good and calm voice in a sometimes frenetic ecosystem. Your positivity and generosity cut through everything and I always enjoy seeing you pop up in my timeline. Your work speaks for itself!

Cool thread. I'm glad to have met you this year, Daniel! It was fun to chat with you a bit at Perf Now, and I really hope to see you (and other framework devs) at more web perf events in the future.

I have not concentrated on my health this year , reading your blog , I am going to make it a priority this year and thanks Daniel , you have inspired me so much, you are like hero ! :)

you’ve had such an influence on the js testing world with msw and it feels like you recently(?) hit the accelerator - maybe reaping the rewards of years of work i love it that you’re also training others - not just creating tools but teaching what you’ve learned in the process yourself

It's hard to repay for such words, but I will try! ❤️ Your work on Nuxt is nothing short of incredible. Extremely inspiring. I am glad to have stumbled upon you on Twitter, and hope to have a chance to meet in person in the future!

Wow! Means a lot coming from you. 🙏 You’re one of the nicest people in the tech ecosystem as far as I have experienced and observed from afar. Nuxt ecosystem is lucky to have you 🙌

You’re a true inspiration! Not sure if I said that enough. We need more of your thoughtful kindness around. :) (I still regret missing the bouldering when you were here in Amsterdam hahaha)

apart from having amazing hair of course you always pleasantly surprise me with the level of spice you can bring to your posts it also feels like you have such an incredible breadth of skill and interest - from the coder to the entrepreneur to the community builder

Damn Daniel! That was so nice of you (especially the hair part). I am taking queues from you and other community builders, thanks for leading by example!

I hope so, it's great to hear you think I'm making a good difference And for sure I'll sort a meetup out 🥳

My turn. Your encouraging and friendly personality is very unique in the developer community. You help not just Nuxt to grow and not just others as programmers, but you help others to become better people.

Ah thank you! I'm a big fan of your work tbh (Nuxt is simply amazing), hopefully I'll be able to cook up something in the new year that'll blow you away 😄

you've done a huge amount for the package manager ecosystem and your work daily affects people for the better, even if they aren't using yarn I feel like you've shouldered a big burden largely alone and done so with incredibly good grace

you did such a beautiful thing with these threads Daniel, you are one of the kindest humans I've ever met. The best for you and your loved ones in 2025 ❤️

I was hoping you would comment you are truly a remarkable community builder without you and your inclusive, welcoming, encouraging spirit, i do not believe vite would have been successful or have the current unique feel that has driven it to such huge adoption

Back at you, there are so many doing OSS because of your encouragement. Just a small example from your work: your open calendar for folks breaking into OSS is just brilliant. Regarding Vite, I feel the same about so many others in our communities. Cheers for the incredible group of devs we work with
