One of my personal goals with Mima.social is sharing what's working for building an app in the agentic era. It does NOT require complex agentic workflows and intimidating "software factories. Want a "Mima Labs" blog to share what we're learning?

hi, i made a screen recorder !!! it's called Screenie and it's out now ❣️ it follows your mouse and zooms where you click, smooths your cursor, has pretty backgrounds, blurs private stuff and a lot more. no account needed and everything stays on your mac <3 try 4 free at screenie.cam
Getting into how we built Mima and use local models in this one!
In this #InfoQ podcast, Rachel Lee Nabors explores how local-first apps and on-device small language models (SLMs) can deliver more privacy, lower latency, and reduced costs without relying on cloud-hosted LLMs. 🎧 Listen now: buff.ly/bEMiUBl #AI #LocalFirst #LLM #Testing

I enjoy talking to tech folk about their ideas and the challenges their projects bring up-front. At points, the conversation is fluid and natural of the bat, that was the case with @nearestnabors.com. Great conversation on how small-languge models can empower your app, but not for everything.

Some folks remember I wrote a book about UI animation. Spending my morning adding some extra polish for folks without reduce-motion turned on! Love mima.social <3
Shipped mima.social v0.3.0 last night. It is so gratifying to work on something I love for people I care about. It doesn't feel like work. I wake up with ideas, and I go to bed with my heart full 💜
Mima.social first intern incoming! We're a ragtag crew, and I'm pretty proud of what we're cooking. (Note: intern is NOT a pigeon)
Oof. This is why I've gone back to engineering. Being really ridiculously good at explaining things is not the marketable skill it was 12 months ago. https://x.com/seanallen_dev/status/2112167799132979389
I didn't expect anyone to pay attention to my posts about Mima.social in those "self promotion" channels, but I'll be damned if I haven't gotten some amazingly detailed user feedback!
Even if no one else uses mima.social, I use it every day. It makes my social graph whole.

Gotta thank Amy Wibowo for her advice to lampshade how Mima uses (or doesn't) AI features. We're big believers that AI should get out of the user's way and not feed their data to third parties. Check out Amy's amazing engineering zines: https://shop.bubblesort.io/
We're here! Mima launch party happening in SF this week: https://luma.com/codera-i3wh
