shitposts aside, this one is serious, my loves: if you’re just waking up and you have any service online running PHP 5.4 to latest, you need to take it down RIGHT NOW and don’t put it back online until after it’s patched absolutely catastrophic vulnerability dropped in the middle of the night

"At first, I didn’t comprender what the announcers were saying. Except “¡Gooooooooooooool!” which is like the americano word for “goal,” but más grande. After a few días, I started to understand más y más. Los announcers on Telemundo were muy excited about fútbol! ¡It was contagioso!"

[Odysseus confronts Penelope's suitors] WHATS UP DICKWIPES

troyliss@troyliss.bsky.social

The only good thing to come out of the dipshit Odyssey discourse is that at one point I commented “if we’re worried about accuracy, then Jason Mantzoukas should be playing Odysseus,” and now I can’t get it out of my head 😄

HOME DEPOT: We didn't tweak the design or anything. The skeleton just started doing it on its own. And the only thing it says is the exact date that you will die. We cannot kill it because it was born dead.

If you make websites for a living, stop what you're doing and read this research by @tammyeverts.com; it shows what many of us have been saying for a long time: even if there is such a thing as "fast enough", it's generally *much* faster than you are targeting: embrace.io/blog/research-co…

embrace.ioNew research: The Core Web Vitals thresholds you trust might be wrong for your siteCore Web Vitals data from ten leading online retailers reveals that "good" for Google may not be good enough for your users or your business.

A lot of you know me from my work in web dev over the years. A couple of years ago, I realized I was good at getting things done, but not good at slowing down enough to really experience life. Painting became my way of changing that...

That idea launched Tiny Observations, a monthly art mail club built around one small moment worth noticing. If you've been curious about what I've been building, or would like to support this next chapter of my career, I'd love to have you as a subscriber. Global but 1st edition limited to 25!

Putting together the very first edition of Tiny Observations. Every month will include a watercolor print, a tiny hand-pressed linoprint, and a letter from my studio inspired by one small thing worth noticing. I can't wait to get these into mailboxes. Join the club... #art #printclub #watercolor

For me the first bite of a fresh grown tomato is when summer really starts. These lovelies looked like jewels in the sun when I spotted them at the farmer's market. "Summer Heirlooms" This will be the first print in my art print club... #watercolor

Wow really playing whack-a-mole over here with the latest theme vitals update post. Did the spam bots blow up in the last month?

deeply annoying that creative breakthroughs don’t come on schedule from direct work but from things like “open-ended conversations with interesting people” and “doing nothing”

If I don't mess up the final layers, I'll use this artwork for my 1st month subscription to an art print club - for $10 you get an art print, tiny linoprint, and letter from me in the mail. (Only $2 international letter). Interested? I'm waiting to get print sample photos before launching

Progress... trying not to touch while it dries 😅🖌️ #watercolor #art

🍅 This one is taking a while to finish, but I love it. I rotate around the tomatoes to paint each layer, letting some dry and some blend. It always goes through an ugly phase before the final layers are added. #watercolor

Anyone found a good cross-posting option for Bluesky + Instagram. I know, I know, it's meta but it's for my art account and you still have to be on IG for that. Buffer works ok for my meetup but totally fails on my art IG account even though it's a pro/biz one.

I don't normally share process videos, but I love the way the light is hitting these tomatoes at the farmer's market. It makes me think of summer so much with the hot sun beating down and the juicy flavors of a fresh tomato. 🍅🌞 #watercolor #art

I love tomatoes. When I was a toddler, my mom had to beg my Greek grandparents to stop giving them to me because I ate so many I had a rash around my mouth. This little study both reminds me of that but also it's a proud gardener moment. Watercolor on paper 9 x 6.75 in Available #watercolor

LLM's are helpful because they're trained on years of high quality educational material and forums where people helped each other. People aren't visiting forums or paying for educational content anymore because of LLM's. The well isn't going to magically fill itself in perpetuity.

Salma has put into words a lot of my thoughts and some of the reasons I quietly quit most of web dev entirely. I'm now focusing more on my art. At least for now. Working offline with my hands has brought back more joy. Of course, getting to sustainable income is harder. (Buy art by humans!)

Hi, friends. The last 6 years have been a blast, but I just don't like being on The Internet anymore. I'm leaving DevRel, and I wrote a little bit about why. Look after yourselves, and each other. Love, Salma

I'm thinking of starting a snail mail art print club. Would some of y'all be interested? Still tossing around ideas in my head... Current iteration is Tiny Observations - art and prompts that are small and in the moment. I know this is main, but y'all are most of my art followers anyway
