🎉 Qwik 1.14.0 is here with a HUGE improvement! Details in the blog post 👇

Ok. I’m working on a slide deck right now in keynote and I want to bring in some text onto individual slides and not copy pasta stuff over like a tool… What ai agent can I spin up in minimal time to get this done?

If you see a commit in a project that you know is “inspired” by an OSS project and the diff is only a name change in a comment switching between them… Sus?

As AI continues to shape design and development, the role of frontend developers is evolving. I predict that in the future, frontend devs will focus more on architecture, performance optimization, and integrating AI-generated components into production workflows.

The need for developers to code from scratch will 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞, but their responsibility in crafting scalable, high-quality UI systems will 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥.

By combining technical expertise with AI, frontend developers will be able to ship faster, iterate more efficiently, and ensure that designs are not only visually stunning but also highly functional.

They’ll leverage tools that automate repetitive tasks while collaborating closely with designers to ensure creativity and code work in harmony. companies will still be yes-code companies.

Hoping 2025 turns out to be better than the last few years. It’s been tough. The world needs a break. Happy new year everyone!

So lucky to have had a chance to get to know Daniel, and to speak at international events. Step out of your comfort zones, the water is great 😊

you're a great speaker (really enjoyed meeting you at armadajs!) and have a gift for really engaging writing even now, browsing your blog, it was hard not to get sucked in it's clear you also have the engineering depth to back up what you write looking forward to seeing what you launch this year

It's a bit disheartening to see that folks are still posting in that other app. Seems like people still want the reach and audience they got there. For me it's annoying cuz i have to go over there too to check updates instead of only using @bsky.app... C'mon y'all make the commitment!

“React knowledge is also not particularly valuable. Any team familiar with React's...baroque...conventions can easily master Preact, Stencil, Svelte, Lit, FAST, Qwik, or any of a dozen faster, smaller, reactive client-side systems that demand less mental bookkeeping.” 🎤 drop @infrequently.org

I've come to understand what's happening in frontend's decade-long failure to deliver decent user experiences as a sort of epistemic closure. I'm calling it "frameworkism", and the epicenter is now React. Here's a lot of words on why we should all reject it: infrequently.org/2024/11/if-not-r…

It's done. Now it’s your turn, Oracle. We’ve submitted a formal petition to cancel the JavaScript trademark: it is generic, Oracle has abandoned it, and Oracle committed fraud on the USPTO during the last trademark renewal. It's time to #FreeJavaScript. deno.com/blog/deno-v-...

deno.comDeno v. Oracle: Canceling the JavaScript TrademarkOracle is holding the JavaScript trademark hostage, and we’re pursuing legal means to #FreeJavaScript. Here’s a brief update.

This is a great post. The view of a designer on the dev/design process. sure I'm somewhat biased as it was written by a colleague of mine, however I think it's important to understand both sides of the coin. Working on a rebuttal and the dev view :-)
