ironically this groups main problem is the problem the democratic party has, in that it’s purely reactive. they don’t promote a positive agenda that speaks to people, always on their back foot, defensive. this inspires no one

Crazy thing about the "closed primary" bit, it means only registered Democrats were allowed to participate. Independents can't vote in D primaries in NY, so we know for sure it was only their own voters. Ironic, cuz I'm old enough to remember Clintonite gloating that Sanders only won open primaries

When the win, it's the most fair, honest, open elections ever and you should've just done better getting those votes, but now you better VBNMW! When they lose, it's always because of (insert non-reasons) and it's time to look at more moderate 3rd party candidates or maybe give that R a glance....

We fucking would. But the Democratic Establishment is showing their true colors. They would rather attack people to their left than Republicans, and you would rather put your fingers in your ears and act like nothing is wrong.

team formulation smacks of stifling candidates & elected folks more dialed in to the people right now Noone guaranteed establishment 30 yrs of easy ride, if they don’t meet people’s needs they should be pushed aside by folks who will need a serious jumpstart from “the lesser of 2 evils” thinking

And you are completely ignoring, not listening, to the fact that centrist Dems are spending more energy attacking people to the left than the GOP. You're spending your time yelling at people pointing that out than telling those Democrats.

How many times were the same guys celebrating maga candidates losing their primaries in deep red states?

Half of the Dem party is planted republicans registered as Dem to fuck the Party. The "Manchins, Sinemas, Fettermans" and they need to b dealt with just like the rest of the traitors to our nation. They are the enemy of the people.

Genuinely dont think they're plants but are basically Republican. Theyre too whatever to do something about their own party, including an honest assessment of how it got there, and expect any mvmt they join to be so overjoyed they've arrived that they get to run the discussion and wield any power.

So they "reject socialism." Like social security, medicaid and medicare. They reject the policies and programs of FDR. Good to know they're the republican lite party. Now go lose some elections with that message.

Third way is indistinguishable from an anti-leftist psyop by Republicans to separate Dem voters from their party leaders. They are atp responsible for the inevitable Don Jr 2033 presidency. Liquidate them into nutritious goo, too.

It's fascinating that the Israeli State is actively campaigning against social democrats in the USA. It's almost as if they know that progressives are against their genocidal imperialism.

🔥 Exactly. As I've consistently found on all social media sites I've utilized - #Bluesky included - 🤑 #centrist 🔵 HATES the left wing 😳 OF ITS OWN PARTY (almost?) as much as Trump. S. 🔵 #3rdWay🔵 particularly HATES the anti-corporatist #DemocraticSocialists' #economics. apple.news/A1Hmfe465S16...

Yea I tried reading it and like "we want everyone to be able to afford a life working one job. But only if that's small business owner 😎" kinda threw me off "Good things? Sure they can happen but CAPITALISM comes first above all " isn't really inspiring when *guestures are current capitalism*

You can't have a positive, forward-looking agenda when the purpose of party leadership is to maintain an intolerable status quo. Anything that would address the needs and demands of voters is unacceptable to the people with money who call the shots for the party. Purely reactive is all they can do

Because they largely operate off the same sort of “rules” as the Daily Wire & PragerU propagandists do. Talk fast while insisting you’re smart and rational while anyone who doesn’t support your nonsense is dumb/unreasonable

I'd say they're more Sorkin pilled and think the right pithy rejoinder will fix everything. I could easily be convinced these are rooted in the same narcissism and lack of real initiative.

Responding to earnest and clearly articulated demands for real change with a smug, pithy little comment because your only real struggle day to day is trying to get your Twitter numbers up.

It was a lighthearted acknowledgement of the fact that "comrade" is fully gender neutral, comrade Sally, comrade Norm, comrade River, anyone and everyone can be called comrade.

the whole exchange was wild. Hasan and the DSA even responded and said yes. Hasan said to come on his stream and they chickened out. They said something like "amazon billionaire backed platform" They're such chickenshit. They have no real grassroots backing. It's all billionaire astro-turfing.

ah yes, the centrists will surely win over the people who want politicians who actually do something to help by... making a new superpac and acting like a snitty supervisor online?

Clinton lost on this same vibration. Dems are always learning the wrong lesson from their voters. Digging their heels in, instead of using the new energy. It’s tradition.

Text from “Friends for Peace, a supporter group focused on correcting misinformation and sharing accurate information about Israel and the Middle East.” “John” claimed the Iran peace deal would “weaken” Iran. When asked how giving Iran $350B would weaken Iran, no response. Israel is in overdrive.

The Democratic party has assumed the Republicans would abide by regular order. Win some lose some. Oppose an agenda, but keep aspects of it when you take power. They are now dealing with a dedicated MAGA regime that assumes a forever rule. No quarter. No compromise. No adherence to the law Fuck em

Capitalism is a force not a goal. Socialism is a force not a goal Since capital has gravitational properties, the result of pure capitalism is that one person amasses all the wealth Socialism is the necessary and appropriate balancing force to capitalism, not a threat to it

Socialism is the period through which the capital class is divested of the means of production as a transition to communism. Socialism is not a "check on capitalism"

He only did that for a little bit but went back to Twitch because he noticed dual streaming hurt his viewership on both platforms. Interestingly, he said he actually made more money from dual streaming despite the split viewership.

Part of me believes that the reason why capitalists talk so much shit about Socialists having money and a platform is because if they don't have those things, then it becomes much harder to advocate for socialism. They call it hypocritical because they don't want socialists to have any influence.

I also hadnt seen someone list the centrist idiots yet, so here they are: Current Reps: ADAM GRAY CA-13 TOM SUOZZI NY-03 LAURA GILLEN NY-04 DON DAVIS NC-01 KRISTEN McDONALD RIVET MI-08 JOSH GOTTHEIMER NJ-05 MAGGIE GOODLANDER NH-02 JANELLE BYNUM OR-05 VICENTE GONZALEZ TX-34 SUSIE LEE NV-03

I live in the district. Definitely very leftist and yet clearly still showed up for Kamala against Trump. Instead of being happy about it they are being dicks.

It's massive BLUE safe space. The get-out-the-vote infrastructure is the DNC's, which the DSA insurgents used themselves. You don't get to brag unless you beat Kamala's numbers in the general against a MAGA running. I have a feeling they won't win by quite her margin unless unopposed.

How did the dsa use the "democrat's" get out the vote infrastructure to win a democratic primary against the incumbent democrat? We're you describing dsa members as property of the democrats?

If it's a massive blue safe space wouldn't you want the farthest left candidate because you know they'll win regardless? Because that's how republicans treat their safe seats and it seems to be working well for them

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

KARL: Rs are gonna make you the poster child for the D Party MAMDANI: Let them. We don't have to ask ourselves what life looks like if a socialist wins. I won last year & over the course of the last 6 months what we've delivered for working people are the very things we were told were impossible.

No, they will. If NY-12 had been one of the districts then you might've been right, but unfortunately we didn't have anyone from DSA in the race

Voters *In New York* That's my point. I don't actually care what New Yorkers do, except where it effects me. My worry is that DSA elsewhere is going to take their ball and go home when their candidates bomb elsewhere. AGAIN.

The get out the vote infrastructure that alienated 1/3 of Americans and cost us dearly. I don't need to see them repeat that just because the DNC wants to venerate Reagan.

I don’t get it. Everyone loves being condescended to and then asked to do a Zoom call, how is behaving like an email job middle manager not inspiring voters?

Also even putting aside the interparty fight and even ignoring the flashing genocide light, every other policy position I’ve read about the promise to America is rancid lol This snarky zoom call could have been an email

we are not a lock step group of minions like MAGA The people in districts and states will elect who they want to. Party bureaucracy should honor and support every single nominee. You can sort out your semantics later. This is a representative democracy. Or at least it used to be.

In American Government class in high school my teacher said the anti-federalists lost bc they didn’t present any kind of positive vision and being solely “anti-federalist” was not very persuasive. I don’t know if that’s really how it went down back then, but I’m becoming more convinced now.

Also wait until November for when they move the goalposts. They'll then claim that DSA candidates can only beat Republicans in blue districts, and then later say only blue states, then say only purple states...etc.

Their whole "Promise to America" is like six individual paragraphs. There is zero substance. Zero policy. It's just the same hollow "we're capitalists who love America and value hard work" that just makes them sound like Republicans.

And yet, my (non Magat) Republican relatives don't believe me when I tell them the modern Democratic party is basically just Reagan Republicans with a somewhat better LGBTQ+ stance, and not the uber liberal leftists they think Democrats are.
