I want to “yes, and..” this to emphasize that neither fear nor horror have singular definitions, and most of their failure states in RPGs are a result of treating them as monolithic.

My entire career in RPGs has been focused on overcoming this issue. We do it in a lot of ways. The single biggest piece of advice I can give is that players know what can scare them. Empower the players to scare themselves, and they will. Incentivize sub-optimal choice making!

I AM TELLING EVERYONE. #iHunt is one of my favorite games and @filamena.bsky.social and @machineiv.bsky.social are so damn talented. The script is SO good, y'all have no idea. The only thing that would make me happier than adapting it myself is seeing these two ladies adapt their own work!

This is awesome news. I mean, has there ever been a #ttrpg movie that wasn't about DnD? Directed by the Rise of Leslie Vernon: Behind the Mask fellow, too, and I can immediately see that. Really hope this comes off.

Is it weird to be glad to see the bad in the world reflected in games? I dunno. Maybe. But it feels weirder that it’s not. (And I get that it IS showing up In our games, both indirectly and as a thing to escape. I just expected more “billionaires are killing us” games by now)

There are many reasons I’m excited about this, but here’s a weird one. In the U.S., everything is pretty bad right now, and some part of me would expect this to be reflected in our TTRPGs, but by and large it is not. iHunt is an amazing exception to this, and thank goodness for it.
