An important read. Dems will actually have to DO something to revitalize their brand and win in 2028. That means making the GOP and Trump go on the record as opposing things we want. Crafting a progressive agenda to run on in 2028. Distinguishing themselves as warriors for the people.

Leaders of the No Kings movement are already gearing up for the next major grassroots campaign: Making sure congressional Democrats don’t wimp out. My first piece at @newrepublic.com! (Reposted to update link card) newrepublic.com/article/2168...

Abdul punches back and doesn't take shit. He isn't a weak centrist nothing. People want fighters.

So his message to voters is "vote for the GOP because Omar is a Muslim woman from Somalia who married her brother." How does that put food on the table? How does that lower healthcare costs? How does that put gas in the car? It doesn't. He has no solutions or policies to point to.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump is smearing Ilhan Omar in speeches all over the country now because he is an Islamophobic bigot and he thinks that’s a winning message for Republicans

Did he announce a plan to lower prices? No. Did he announce a plan on gas? No. How about a program to encourage building more houses? No. All he's got are lies. No, Denmark didn't give us Greenland. His gas plan is winning in Iran. He says he won't help GA if Ossoff wins. He's got nothing for us.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Here's a supercut of notable moments from Trump's rally tonight in Georgia, including a lot of gutter racism, blasphemy, and reveling in the suffering of Americans who are struggling with high prices:

I hope Trump sees this so he can learn what a full auditorium at a political rally really looks like. Also, it will make him furious.

Raider@iwillnotbesilenced.bsky.social

Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Sherrod Brown introduced former President Barack Obama to the stage to roaring crowds Saturday at Cleveland Public Auditorium, marking Obama's first visit to Ohio since 2018.

The second that Trump announces his run for an illegal third term as president, Obama needs to announce the same thing.

“What is striking about this moment is just how unserious the people in charge are” — Obama

Doesn't he know he's supposed to talk about men's asses, how he passed 12 cognitive tests, and tell us how to spell dumb?! God! I miss this man and his speeches. He's not a raving lunatic.

“He’s got the White House looking like Saddam Hussein opened up a Cheesecake Factory” — Obama

I wish I could design RPGs again. I miss it. Unfortunately, I haven't played a table top RPG in 30 years. But I miss the creativity. The act of writing. Creating. Thinking about numbers and what they mean for the setting and game play. Creating worlds. That's gone from me now.

I'm going to ask the question from The Dead Zone. If you had the chance, knowing what you know now, would you go back in time to kill Hitler? I know my answer.

When Last Unicorn Games created the Icon System for our games, I was the lead designer. I wanted to use D6s because the idea was that if someone bought the game at B&N, they may not have access to other kinds of dice. That determined the mechanics, whan the target number was for success.

Bonuses and flaws modified the target number or the dice result. Being Bold got you a +2 to the dice result when you acted bold (e.g. running into combat). The easy part was setting the target number. That was pure mathematics. The hardest part was the skill list. That took me weeks.

Believe it or not, Google AI has the system. Roll 3d6 and take the highest die. Add your skill level. If I had it to do over, I'd take the total of 3d6 + skill level. Google also has the difficulty table. I'm stunned.

Everyone seems to have forgotten that so-called Independent Dan Sullivan was a Republican first. And we warned that having two candidates on the ballot with the same name would create confusion the GOP could exploit. And this was the GOP plan all along.

Vox@vox.com

Why the DOJ is suing over two Dan Sullivans running for Senate. www.vox.com/the-logoff-n...

This has been the GOP goal all along - to sow confusion in elections. They started in CA and AK. More is coming. Expect more on election night as they file lawsuit after lawsuit.

"contemporary protest in the United States is a form of therapy for the participants. It usually amounts to little more than an individualized expression of one’s values... but rarely provokes meaningful change."

Across France, a mass protest and strike movement has nearly brought the state to its knees. In the U.S., there are things we can learn from our European counterparts. www.currentaffairs.org/news/why-don...

This means there will absolutely be an attack this weekend.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Q: Your ambassador to Turkey just said that 'absolutely, there could a strike on Iran this weekend.' Have you gone back on holding off until after the midterms? TRUMP: If that's the case, I don't know anything about it

“During this election season, there has been a significant surge in entirely Fake Polls and Suppression Polls designed to do nothing more than interfere with the regular functioning of the electoral process and alter the normal patterns of voter turnout and enthusiasm,”

newrepublic.comFCC Threatens Broadcasters Over Polls Predicting Disaster for GOPThe Federal Communications Commission is ramping up Trump’s war on “fake polls” as it looks to be a bloodbath for Republicans this election.

They're planning to ramp up the war again. Trump may do it before elections because he knows a Dem Congress will force him to leave. Bibi wants it sooner rather than later because he thinks it'll boost his re-election chances. Problem is, the 3rd aircraft carrier won't be there until after Nov 3rd.

Has he told the one about how kids are getting mutilized by the biology teacher and the school nurse during recess? You ever notice how the GOP is only concerned about boys transitioning into girls? It's never about Sally becoming Sammy. Why is that?

It's Schroedinger's Somalis. Low IQ grifters from a sithole country AND buying luxury cars and houses -- at the same time!

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Stephen Miller claims Somali-Americans in Minnesota are "buying Mercedes, buying BMWs, they buy a nice house, all their kids fly first class all over the world" (This is a lie!)

See? This is how you protest wealth inequality, unaffordable housing, and rising prices. Not a frog costume or funny sign in sight. And it's not just France. Riots in Milan, Albania, Spain, and Portugal. All over prices for food, gas, and rent. Step it up America.

NBC News@nbcnews.com

Buildings set on fire, water cannons and tear gas used to clear demonstrators, and stores looted, as violence spreads across France in recent days. Authorities are scrambling to restore calm to the streets, with some cities imposing a partial curfew.

Why do I keep pushing for this? Because the politicians and super rich aren't listening to you now. If they were, things would change. They only listen to protests like this. Ask the Bourbons. It's time for a worker revolution to reorient society.

America: angry over high gas and food prices, the people march in inflatable frog costumes and hold funny signs. France: angry over high gas and food prices, the people burn the motherfucker down. What is wrong with Americans? Do they like getting fucked over? Oh please daddy, raise gas prices!

A militarized police force. Copaganda like Law & Order. Police violence like Kent State and the BLM protests. Americans have been taught by the government and oligarchs NOT to riot. To take it in the ass and say "thank you" as they wipe their chins. It's fear. It's complacency. Europe isn't scared

Centrist Democrat says he'd rather have a Congress controlled by Republicans than have progressive Dems. Centrist Democrats are just Republicans who are cool with minorities and gays. They have no interest in helping people. It's the same economic program - help the rich.

Mrs. Betty Bowers@mrsbettybowers.bsky.social

It's the stupidity, stupid. Shut up and go away.

Ha-ha-ha! So witty! This will definitely stop the GOP from shutting down Congress on Jan 3 to protect Trump from investigation. You all are infants. This shit won't stop the GOP from refusing to seat a Democrat-led Congress. Enjoy your new authoritarian government.

Alt National Park Service@altnps.bsky.social

Haha, maybe some spines too.

And you think the GOP will quietly shrug and walk away on Jan 3, when the new Democrat-led Congress is seated? Johnson will refuse to swear them in. Then seat the old Congress. Meanwhile, they'll file bogus court cases alleging vote fraud. Jan 3 will make Jan 6 look like a bakesale. Be ready.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Mike Johnson threatens us with a good time: "They want to exact retribution on the Trump administration every hour of every day for the next two years"

Watch this. It's a masterclass. Don't just read about it. Watch it. Republican Christian nationalist tries the standard anti-muslim gotcha question and gets schooled. Warmly. Gently. With grace and intelligence.

Abdul El-Sayed@abdulelsayed.bsky.social

This is Tommy. Tommy had a question about my allegiances. Listen to the end to hear about his.

THIS is how you do No Kings demonstrations. And you'll have to do this on Jan 3rd, when Johnson refuses to seat a new, Democrat-led Congress to protect Trump. The GOP isn't leaving Congress willingly. Frog costumes and witty signs won't help us. Prepare to burn a motherfucker down.

He has already rigged the election. The plan is in place. On Jan 3, the GOP will refuse to seat the new Congress. Expect a new coup. What are you gonna do? March on DC wearing a frog costume and waving clever signs? Run to the courts?

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "I don't need to do this. I already won. Somebody said 'good luck with the election.' I said, 'No, I already won.' I don't need to do this."

Look, man. It's not just about Ukraine. Putin wants to rebuild the Soviet empire. First Ukraine. Then the Baltics. Then Poland. We are in a battle with a reconstituted Soviet empire that's now an oligarchy. Any republican who doesn't understand this is an idiot.

Well that's a relief. Right now, I have these big fat guys with bad acne patrolling my streets. I'd rather my ballots be stolen by big, strong soldiers, muscles rippling, tears in their eyes. "Sir, sir! No one steals ballots like you!"
