The Sexy Brutale - 5/10 was enticed by the time loop and investigation premise but was let down by the execution and simplicity of the gameplay every puzzle being separate and the incredibly large amount of annoying little details really let the game down for me

Loddlenaut - 6/10 very short but satisfying cleaning and animal caretaking game i feel the game failed to make me care for the loddles and planet. that + the length (5.5 hours) left me not caring about the planet as i left it, but that complaint comes from an unfair comparison with subnautica.

Citizen Sleeper - 7/10 interesting world and characters to meet and help. :) a few of the interactions felt odd for me, where it's implied you spend a lot of time in one place which was not reflected in the gameplay for me. i also had an odd bug that made the entire station vibrate slightly.

The Alters - 8/10 fun base management combined with interesting characters and difficult decisions. fantastic visual effects.

Porffor is now self-hosted, meaning it compiles itself with itself! This is made possible by Porffor's new rewrite, reducing its lines of code by >50% and making C output up to 5x more efficient! Here you can see the stats before and after the rewrite for Porffor itself:

You now do not need the Changesets bot for automatic PR comments. Use GitHub Actions instead! With two new sub-actions: - `changesets/action/pr-status` - `changesets/action/pr-comment` Set up a workflow like below to automate it yourself. Or check out the action docs: github.com/changesets/a...

#tc39 first class protocols proposal is fascinating. very rust-y, traits like. really getting back to what made js so so damned good, return to a powerful complex prototypal inheritance. seemingly a ton of momentum/contributirs. new to me but instant fast follow. github.com/tc39/proposa...

it is infuriating that agentic development is finally forcing people who lack empathy to take documentation seriously because the pain new contributors feel is just now impacting them for the very first time, but let’s take the w and refuse to surface info exclusively for agents

We’ve been testing how machine-readable our design system documentation is. Turns out, AI agents and humans benefit from exactly the same qualities: gerireid.com/blog/ai-is-a...

Replying to @jovidecroock.com

demanding deletion, warning about "misuse," threatening credibility damage, that is gatekeeping dressed up as quality control. It shuts down any kind of transparent, iterative sharing that actually builds healthy communities. I appreciate how much the e18e folks try to collaborate with Tim here

I would put more money on continuing to harvest infinite energy from the sun over assuming that forcing everyone to use The Machine The Lies To You is the steady basis of an entire economy

A fun question. In 5 years time, what looks better? The US’s enormous bet & capex on AI? Or China’s equally enormous bet and capex on renewables?

Mecha Hitler said a few unsavory things about Jews, women, minorities, and called for the subjugation of anyone who wasn’t a straight white Christian man, but it’s important to remember he argued with civility.

I encounter this argument a lot: "removing pkg A is pointless, it'll exist throughout your dep graph" Today I removed chalk & it no longer exists in my graph anywhere. Same for glob libs The community has done such great work deeply migrating and modernising whole stacks 🩵

had a thought about why people outside the tech world (artists, journalists, etc) are quicker to perceive gen AI output as bullshit even though they are generally less deeply familiar with how they work: in most domains, generative models are only trained on the _output_

a few people have been asking me why i forked the unicorn lint plugin, and some not-as-friendly people unfortunately have been telling me i haven't done anything other than "replace a couple of dependencies" so here's just some stuff i got upto on the fork 🧵

Published empathic@1.1 🎉 (benchmarks below) Many packages are eagerly joining the @e18e.dev effort but (understandably) have existing support restrictions to maintain & so can't make as much progress as they'd like. This release helps with that~! (cont.)

ECMAScript excitement 😉 TypeScript's @chronicles.org is pitching enum in JS 🎉 It's the good parts of TS enum + enhancements: 🔶 More datatypes: Symbols etc 🔶 Iterable 🔶 Immutable 🔶 Null prototype 🔶 No declaration merging 🔶 Compatible with Node type-stripping 👍 github.com/rbuckton/pro...
