Hey @marque.at, is there any way to create an API key that can only write a specific DNS record? (I'm trying to automate the generation of a wildcard Let's Encrypt cert, and don't want to allow that machine the ability to take down the apex)

I think the best I can do is create a locked-down atproto account with nothing else in it and add it to a Marque team for the given domain, but that still gives it permission to mess with the apex (and my ability to receive email etc.) Am I missing some way to lock things down all the way?

hi, i made a screen recorder !!! it's called Screenie and it's out now ❣️ it follows your mouse and zooms where you click, smooths your cursor, has pretty backgrounds, blurs private stuff and a lot more. no account needed and everything stays on your mac <3 try 4 free at screenie.cam

Login with atproto may be one of the most powerful pieces the protocol has to offer, but setting it up can be... difficult. HappyProto makes it easy. Allow your users to log in with any atproto account and skip a week of reading specs. OAuth, DPoP, scopes... forget about it. 😎 #atproto

The details are now public, as of two hours ago. bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi... The secret P-384 keys for these intermediate CAs are all zeros except the last 8 bits. All not-updated software can be MITM'ed now. IOT boxes that can't or don't update are now trivially MITM'able forever.

If you make HTTPS requests or have other TLS clients and care about MITM attacks, you need to update today. If you run Go: go get go@1.27.3 If you run Homebrew: brew update brew install ca-certificates If you run Linux, maybe stay off the internet for now.

iOS’ “Prioritise this download” is a joke — setting up a new iPhone and *every* other app has downloaded before the one that I must verify before I can trade in my old phone…

Serious downside of Bluesky not using OAuth: I’m building a PDS for your Steam Machine that only uses your Steam account for auth by default, for zero-config setup ✨ …but you can’t log into Bluesky, cos you don’t have (or need) a password.

I wish there was a universally adopted atproto-based stock (of products in stores) lexicon I want this thing, I want to buy local, but where has it? A “we stock this”, and “we have it in stock” boolean for everything (by EAN, to start?) would be *so* useful in cities. Any POS providers here? 😅

A quick check makes me think there are these mismatches for my (unintended) use-case: - storefront isn’t set up to express physical location (would you want to represent that here, or on a sibling record referencing this?) - no way to represent an associated universal ID, eg. EAN

I think that’s it though! (Perhaps categorising the product is useful when being listed/indexed outside its home site, but that’s a hard and tangential problem in my humble opinion!) Are you considering either of these @lgtm.shop ?

Plus it doesn’t need a browser context, so you can now convert mermaid to SVG server-side too!

This is Pele, my new rendering library for diagrams and charts, compatible with the latest Mermaid syntax. - 100-500× faster than mermaid.js - 6× smaller bundle - No dependencies - Easy to theme - Responsive to device width - Open source (MIT) Try it at pele.run

Okay frick it, I'm announcing the project I've been working on. It's called Reams, a markdown editor that syncs over atproto spaces. It works offline, doesn't require a login, and has a bunch of features packed in. Try it at reams.ink, install the PWA for the best experience!

Hey @marque.at, a bunch of sites give you a list of DNS records to add (eg. iCloud here). It'd be awesome if Marque had a box which converted the copied text from places like that into a list of records you could then approve for addition to your domain! (see alt text for copied text)

Hey @mu.social, I’m noticing quite a lot of “deleted post” references at the moment on the Eurosky & Blacksky AppViews on the mu iOS app specifically, are you aware of anything wrong? (The website was fine) This is the post: mu.social/profile/gui....

I love that, in an onsen, getting clean is a job that requires a desk. You can take your own time though, and the reward is a gloriously relaxing bath.

Use @marque.at as the integrated custom handle domain host? The bonus here is you don’t need to provide any instructions for what records are needed, just write the records!

what do yall think are the most impactful things we could do in the Bluesky app to support atproto builders?

Does @marque.at have tools/APIs for integrating choosing a domain on another site, then bouncing to a payment page & back? (Or a “custom handle” all-in-one?) I’d totally integrate this into @passingreads.org

Visibility of other atproto apps. We need wayyy more users to approach sustainable levels. Bsky can help greatly with exposing Semble to new users. One idea: recommend other apps after following someone, similar to how substack recommends pubs and accounts. Eg "this user is also active on Semble"

My day, and the month, is drawing to a close here in the East of the world… But September’s not over until it’s over! You have just a few more hours to buy your domains at marque.at, and get @marque.at, @chris.pardy.family and I to donate to charity on your behalf! $475 + whatever you buy now…

What's the one thing your podcast host doesn't do that would actually make you switch? Not a nice-to-have, but the thing you've complained about out loud more than once. Building in the open, would rather solve real problems than invented ones.

For every domain you buy this month I’m donating £1 to help rebuild Venezuela after the earthquakes. My in-laws’ homes survived with only a little damage, but so many people lost everything. I’m sure you have an idea in need of a domain nestling away somewhere, marque.at is the place to get it!

@cstross.bsky.social hello! I’m reading the Regicide Report while travelling and really enjoying it! Thank you 😊 As the universe is set a decade back and earlier, I keep wondering: have you given thought to how LLMs would fit into a universe where sufficient computational density summons horrors?
