Okay frick it, I'm announcing the project I've been working on. It's called Reams, a markdown editor that syncs over atproto spaces. It works offline, doesn't require a login, and has a bunch of features packed in. Try it at reams.ink, install the PWA for the best experience!

hey @rafaelbehr.bsky.social sorry for the delayed response to the connection confusion. We have some ideas for how to improve it but for now I think the best way to think about it is: 'Subject (link A) -> Verb (connection label) -> Object (link B)`.

if you first convert the label to verb form ('supplement' -> 'supplements', 'explainer' -> 'explains') it makes the direction clearer

Pretty crazy coincidence that a movie about how terrible Zuckerberg is was filmed in UBC's The Nest, where #ATmosphereConf2026 was held 🤯 The walled gardens are slowly crumbling...

Visibility of other atproto apps. We need wayyy more users to approach sustainable levels. Bsky can help greatly with exposing Semble to new users. One idea: recommend other apps after following someone, similar to how substack recommends pubs and accounts. Eg "this user is also active on Semble"

alex benzer@alexbenzer.com

what do yall think are the most impactful things we could do in the Bluesky app to support atproto builders?

lots of interesting recommendation patterns from substack like being able to see recommended publications on a publication page. Imagine being able to recommend Semble collections, standard site pubs and so on directly on your bsky profile.

Semble is an ensemble of people assembling knowledge

JP@byjp.me

I just realised that when you use @semble.so you are “a(s)sembling” knowledge and that, together, we do this “ensemble” (especially in France 😉) Jeez @wesleyfinck.org, what an absolute banger of a name for a great tool!

atproto inherently wants to be an unenclosable prosocial coordination medium, MOSAIC is an attempt to articulate how that could work. Very exciting and, more importantly, attainable (with the right support)!

Ronen Tamari@ronentk.me

I'm convinced that open social protocols like #atproto have a crucial role to play in the future of science. Excited to share MOSAIC - our best effort at articulating the thesis, why it matters, and how to build and fund it (in collab w/ @exgenesis.ingroup.social ) 🧵

folks, Semble doesn't have to be complicated! using it to organize and share links is pretty goated.

Wesley Finck@wesleyfinck.org

IMO the most common and simple "why" for using semble is "organize and share links with others". You can organize links into collections and people can follow / subscribe to those collections.

working with at-tags in semble is going to be very fun! - we can notify the record author of semble activity - aggregate by aturi instead of url - enhance the semble page to include richer metadata (e.g. follow author of record directly in semble) - and so much more :)

𝕮@chrisshank.com

Fun fact: about 6% (2000 out of 34000) of the links saved to @semble.so includes at-tags.

Some preliminary product insights from our recent onboarding launch: It's no coincidence that the most popular suggested link is "From Feeds to Trails". People are ready for a new kind of social media experience! leaflet.pub/p/did:plc:ld...

Not sure how to get started with Semble? We now have in-app onboarding! It's a great time to try out Semble or share it with a curious friend 🥳 Try it out: semble.so/onboarding

my fav part about onboarding in an atproto app is that any new user likely already knows existing users and we can very easily help them connect! One reason why open social graphs are amazing.

This is really exciting to see! I think some magical things can happen when we "free" our links from static pages and let them intermingle in a social knowledge medium like Semble.

Osbert Lancaster@osbert.org

@semble.so I'm experimenting with creating a Collection of links and resources that would normally be in the show notes of my podcast episode. Not sure it makes sense to include a guest's profile (i.e. university profile page or Bluesky profile) as a Card. What do you think?

sharing links to Semble like this does two main things: 1) gives viewers an opportunity to participate in meaningful knowledge creation (by connecting links, organizing into collections, leaving notes, etc) that can benefit other viewers, by:

2) people-driven recommendation and discovery. Every link from the episode is embedded in rich social context: related links, connected links, collections. Your insights become another persons next read or listen.

😍

David Gasquez@davidgasquez.com

Wanted to take a peek at @semble.so and didn't knew where to start. I built this as a static explorer of all the links in there. sites.wisp.place/davidgasquez... Love AT Protocol for letting me build the UI I want! 😍

literally this. As fun as it is to think about all the fun interop features we *could* build for y'all, we also need to make sure we spend our time wisely and solve problems for non-atproto people.

Mosh Lee@mosh.bsky.social

Yes, this! ATProto devs are a lovely community but we need to spend 20x more time talking to users who aren't yet here and solving their problems.

people powered discovery! our secret is that Semble users have good taste and save great content to the network 🤌

Eugene Vinitsky 🍒@eugenevinitsky.bsky.social

@semble.so is actually totally crushing it in finding interesting, relevant things to read and stay on top of

I love seeing this: people who stumble across Semble and immediate get it and start curating and connecting right away. "Designed to connect ideas" is exactly it 😀

Rafael M Batista@rafmbatista.bsky.social

Set up my @semble.so account and it seems promising! Integrated with Bluesky so you already have an "account" and don't even know it. It has still got its training wheels on but I know of no product out there like this; Im so hoping this succeeds! Designed to connect ideas semble.so/profile/rafm...

This is why @atproto.science is so relevant rn This compilation of essays indicates that scientists are most frustrated by insufficient “community tools and resources... Essential infrastructure for sharing, maintaining and building on existing work and data is also badly underdeveloped." >

Algorithmic feeds are like caffeine: addictive but great in moderation. But we also need less stimulating alternatives. Subscriptions in Semble gives us more options on the menu, so we can be more intentional with our choices and how we spend our time online. ☕️ 🛎️

Semble@semble.so

You don't always need a fancy algorithm steering your attention. Sometimes all you want is a reliable way to see the curation of people you trust, and that's exactly what subscriptions are for. Try it out - subscribe to a few of your favorite collections or curators!

I've been a @zotero.org user for more than 6 years and have thousands of references - I've always dreamed of being able to see who else was reading those references on my virtual bookshelves. That dream is starting to come true ✨ With Zemble, every reference becomes a portal 🌀 >

𝕮@chrisshank.com

Just released an early preview of Zemble, a @zotero.org plugin for @semble.so! - Augment you Zotero library with all of the activity happening on Semble/Atmosphere. - Easily save and view items in Zotero on Semble. - Publish Zotero collections as Semble collections.

I love wandering in a neighbourhood then finding a mini library. Semble is like the digital equivalent of that: take a link, leave a link. Let others discover your curated references. See what ppl are reading, etc. Now directly from Zotero!

my hot take is that @semble.so is on par with traditional search engines for atproto related topics (and it's only curated by people!)

Eli Mallon@iame.li

Starting to get conspiratorial about how hard it is to Google atproto stuff. Why does "list of public atproto relays" not take me directly to pulsar.feeds.blue? For that matter, why does "pulsar.feeds.blue" not show up on Google whatsoever? There's no robots.txt, it's not that

I love the instinctive reciprocity - it’s what will keep the network valuable as it grows. Take a link, leave a link.

Ian Vanagas@ianvanagas.bsky.social

And because I feel bad purely "taking" from the community, I've also built a skill that: 1. Extract links from my notes. 2. Saves links as cards. 3. Finds similar links and summarizes them. 4. Connects my links to existing ones.

It was really cool to see this setup unfold and helped me understand how Semble fits into an agent stack! Got to chat a bit about this with @laurenshof.online at #DWebCamp2026 too

Ian Vanagas@ianvanagas.bsky.social

Finding real, quotable examples is key to my blog writing workflow. Because Google and the default web search produce a lot of junk, I use Exa, HackerNews, web search, what I've already written, and internal company docs to do this, and I recently added @semble.so to this stack.

It's really exciting to think about the ways in which online communities can form and be discoverable when they exist on atproto, this is a great example of that already happening!

Ronen Tamari@ronentk.me

@burrito.space‘s Discord-Semble integration (disjecta.portable.agency) just triggered an aha moment for me 💡 They have a bot in their Discord that posts all links shared there to a @semble.so collection. I was following that collection on Semble and found some cool links there, so >

friendly reminder to all the atproto product builders out there: make time for user research!

Boris@bmann.ca

Impromptu user research with @ianvanagas.bsky.social, me & @wesleyfinck.org: Wes: so this is @standard.site (brings up home page, lots of protocol talk) Me: like OGP & if you add it to @posthog.com blog you’ll get an awesome feed display & more people will click Ian: sold on pretty + clicks

this is incredible! idea -> reality happens way to fast in this ecosystem would be cool to see this kind of behaviour in a browser extension so people could bring it to the browsers they already use? wdyt @chrisshank.com ?

webbeef@me.webbeef.org

Step 2: we index the text from records, and extract urls. This let us search records and urls from the universal search box in Beaver. If the page you browse is a known urls, you can check who in your ATProto graph has mentioned it.
