It took me a long time to understand that it's not because you show people that something can be done better in an easy way that they will actually care about doing it. If someone doesn't care about details, it doesn't matter that it's easier now, a tool isn't gonna change their personality.

I wish I'd realized when recording this that it would come out on the 10-year anniversary of my channel, but even if I didn't mention it, I guess it's still pretty fitting πŸ˜… (plus it was posted to my second channel anyway, lol)

I built a fun little Chrome extension that lets plants invade your abandoned tabs the longer you leave them unread. To access them again, you have to slash through the vines πŸͺšπŸŒΏ

CASTING CALL: I had a team drop out, so I need 2 devs on short notice to join an episode of Web Dev Challenge in Portland on Oct 21–23 TimescaleDB and sensor data challenge. if that sounds like fun, grab a friend and slide into my DMs ASAP! πŸ’œ

Started the day with a little cry and then I went to my weekly Muay Thai training and now I'm in this blissful state of exhaustion in which, just for a little bit, I don't have enough energy to be affected by anything at all. It's not gonna last long but it feels so peaceful. 😌

Ran the Portland half marathon! πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ₯³πŸ… Reached my goal of 2h10 without stopping! I've been focusing a lot more on zone 2 training and I could feel it's slowly paying off πŸ˜ƒ Definitely felt better than my last half a couple months ago.

This was a *THRILLING* interview. Cory has so much to say on AI, workers rights, software freedom, and so on. It's refreshing to hear nuanced, realistic views beyond "ai good" and "ai bad". Give it a listen!

As much as it's nice to see people experiment more now that AI makes it easier, it's kinda sad that I don't see much knowledge sharing. No walkthrough of their process, implementation, etc. It's all just "look at this cool video of what I built" and that's it... 😞

Day 3 of whale swimming, I didn't think it could get even better! Not only did we find a mother and calf again but there were 2 more whales with them! It was unbelievable!

At the end of the day, we got a much closer encounter with a couple of whales but the other group got an even better experience so I'm really excited for the next few days!

Day 1 of whale swimming: I learned that I'm not immune to seasickness 🀒πŸ›₯️ It was quite miserable but it's ok cause I saw whales!! 😍 The ones we saw mostly stayed at the bottom so it wasn't always easy to spot them but we got a singer and I could feel the vibrations through my body, it was so cool!!

I'm in Tonga to go whale swimming starting tomorrow πŸ‹, we just had breakfast with the group who went this week and hearing them tell us their experience made me even more excited, I can't wait!

Just bought my ticket to go to DEFCON next month! I'm going solo and it's my first time so I'm super excited but ngl, I'm also a little bit scared πŸ˜…

It's funny how now that I've been learning to play the drums for about 8 months, I watch live music differently like "I could do that" πŸ˜‚ and now I kinda wanna be in a band πŸ€”πŸ₯

Didn't make it to the summit yesterday but still got to see a gorgeous sunrise πŸŒ„ We started really well, making great time but 3h into it, the steepness got my legs tired earlier than I expected and I knew I didn't have enough energy to do 5-6h more hours to the summit + all the way back down 😞
