Hi new followers who found me from @ffconf.org 's starter pack! 🥹 I WISH I was going this year, but hopefully I'll be able to make the trip next time. In the meantime, have a fantastic conf. I think it's my favourite.

Can't believe that in less than 4 weeks I will be in Brighton to give a talk about how I build CSS DOOM at @ffconf.org Despite being on my bucket list to attend and speak for at least 10 years, I never managed to visit. But this year I will do both.✨ 🎟️ Tickets are still for sale: 2026.ffconf.org

Two upcoming conferences this November where I will give a talk about how I created CCS DOOM: November 13th - FFConf 🇬🇧 Brighton 2026.ffconf.org November 16th - Halfstack 🇦🇹 HalfStack halfstackconf.com/vienna Both are amazing conferences and have a lovely community. Tickets are still for sale!
Guys, yes, *just* the guys, watch this. Jo shouldn't have to tell us, but do ask yourself: have you seen this? Have you done this? Can you do better next time? This work should have always been on us. This also *has* to be ongoing, it's not just fixed once. We have to pass it on.
I gave a talk at EMF titled "Men in Tech #YesAllMen", in which I told my experience of being a woman in tech. I was afraid to publish it in case it affected my current or future employment. With all the current news I would like to add my 2¢. So here is the recording: youtu.be/WXL6K1lhvt0?...

Very much looking forward to this one. 15 years #btconf. 20th November. Join us! beyondtellerrand.com/blog/fifteen...
4 weeks left to get your ticket - I know you've not done it yet. Don't leave it and miss out. Who is this for? Devs, designers, product people, newbies and oldies. It's a single track day designed to reignite our connection to what we do. 2026.ffconf.org
I’m looking to connect with university lecturers and staff. We offer student tickets for @ffconf.org, but they’re easy to miss, and I’d love to give the next generation of web developers the chance to attend a great indie event. If anyone can contact please drop me comment here I can follow up.
Been working on some new code on my blog (for books) and I felt this strong draw to just get the LLM to do it. It would have been faster, but it prompted me to write this: My AI Policy remysharp.com/2026/10/12/m...
Any @firefox.com smarties know if it's possible to have the browser tab wallpaper follow the system theme? Feels weird to have a light wallpaper with a dark browser.
That @amyhupe.bsky.social such a brilliant speaker and communicator. Every time I see her speak, I come away wanting to be a better human. I hope her talk on Listening will be seen after #WDC (no idea what their hashtag is)
@hidde.blog "some of your toots are art" - took me a minute to realise you meant social posts. British (soft) slang for a fart is "a toot". (love if this was on purpose!)
And I wonder where you can see @cydstumpel.nl talk next 🤔 ::cough:: FFConf ::cough:: 🥳 (also heard great things about Dark Mode)
This was such a fun conference, and all the talks were brilliant. Events like this should have 10x the audience.
Throwback Thursday: www.ne.jp/asahi/hatake... Simpler (and way too complicated) times, eh?

I built a game for September (actually I've been working on it since July). Inspired by Waldschattenspiel. www.keithcirkel.co.uk/dungeon/ The explorer must escape the dungeon, the monster must find them before they do. My first multiplayer game! I'm sure there are many bugs. Networking is hard.
I love posts like this from @zachleat.com (2 weeks ago - because, yes, I'm slow): www.zachleat.com/web/ai-websi... I love them because I don't actually need to read anything and from the (rather fancy) live speedruns, you can see the whole point visually. And wow, how is big tech so shit at this?
This is very useful. I do like the direction Firefox design is going, but the very round tabs make me think the hit target for tabs - especially when pinned and muted - is much smaller than it actually is. creolened.com/firefox-vers...
I'm curious - have you thought about getting a ticket to @ffconf.org but then not (or haven't yet)? Why? It's a sincere question, we're trying to understand what's holding people back. (you can email me too remy@leftlogic.com)

After careful consideration and a look at where the industry is spending it's funding we've decided to pivot #FFConf in a "new" direction. I present to you: ffconf.ai Please share with bots and humans alike.
