Digital Ocean ended their $50/month sponsorship of GNOME and FlatHub and went radio silent on CSS-Tricks right around the time they found a spare three million dollars to burn on “sponsoring” a high-profile racist’s dotfiles repo. Impossible to see this as anything but a statement of their values.

geoffgraham.meWhy CSS-Tricks Has Been Quiet Lately - Geoff GrahamBecause I haven't published anything to it since August 31. And no one else has either. That's not a super long time to go silent but it is for a site that

So cool that it takes the shape() function — and the trick here used to transition the border-width is a slick visual effect.

📝 New CSS Article! I wrote about border-shape. A super powerful feature! You might think I'm exaggerating but I am not. css-tricks.com/get-ready-fo... This is just a tiny overview of its potential. Stay tuned for more articles/demos that will blow your mind (I am still not exaggerating!)

A great review. Geoff and crew have done so much to keep an absolute pillar of our industry alive and flourishing. Hate the see how damaging Google “AI summaries” have been, but love to see how much is being invested in the CSS Almanac. It’s one of my favourite resources on the internet!

I'll be danged if looking back on the past year doesn't make me proud as heck of what's happening over at @css-tricks.bsky.social. css-tricks.com/thank-you-20...

It's so great seeing CSS Tricks thrive again (in as much as our Search overlords deem permissible), I've enjoyed it a lot this year.

📝 New CSS Article! Learn how I made that responsive list of overlapping images using modern CSS. css-tricks.com/responsive-l... A perfect use case for the new sibling-index() and sibling-count() functions.

💡 CSS Tip! Using modern CSS to create a responsive list of stacked images. The overlap will automatically adjust based on the available space and the number of images. css-tip.com/responsive-s... No hardcoded values, no magic numbers, and the gap is transparent!
