What if there was a Web Components conference?? @stuffbreaker.bsky.social and I are teaming up to get a little more serious about the idea of getting one together. We want to gather data on if there is interest in the community forms.gle/ZGqtYGj7V6q8... Please fill out and share to anyone!

Since I have an old Rabbit R1, I wanted to try and turn it into a smartphone. It runs Android and has a sim slot after all. Anyway, ended up bricking it so that was fun. All the sketchy github releases don't make it worth the trouble.

Apparently, my personal account for Twitch has been livestreaming 0 data for about 16 hours. I know exactly know it has happened but I'm too lazy to stop it from the source. If this was YouTube I could stop the stream easily from the web interface, but for some reason Twitch doesn't let you. 🤷

Here's me starting trouble with @kevinpowell.co like I promised. ❤️ blog.damato.design/posts/fluid-...

Using container query units for fluid type can lead to annoying inconsistencies... but we can fix that by registering the value of a custom prop, which means we can scope it to whichever container you want. youtu.be/q-_cIlttYBc

The US Web Design System is load-bearing infrastructure for thousands of government websites. It makes it easy for small teams with no resources (i.e. most .gov teams) to make usable, accessible websites that work for everyone. Today, it's as close as it's ever been to being replaced with AI slop.

Hey, Don't use "because accessibility" as your scapegoat. If it's for accessibility explain how. Describe the kind of person it was designed for and what need it is addressing. Thanks.

We need something like this for things which AREN'T in the standards process. Right now, the whole process is unclear about how stuff actually gets included. Case in point, this thing has been untouched for over a year with no instruction on how to move forward. github.com/w3c/csswg-dr...

I’ve been a little too heads-down building these last few years… Unfortunately in the past month or two I’ve come to the conclusion that while I’m proud of what I built, my startup has one last swing left and it’s not one that needs me. So I am on the hunt for what’s next, be it leadership or IC.

Yep, I did it again. And I'm not done. Instead of it feeling like a dumping ground of my stuff, the website has improved organization on what I offer and where my interests are. Take a look and let me know what you think.
