Amazing news, and if you can afford to, join me in becoming a member of the site. The web needs those of us who have benefited from it so much to give a little back:

Yesterday, the CSSWG accepted my proposal for mesh gradients and diffusion curve gradients! Want to make gradients like this natively in CSS? Well, we've started the work on it. It's coming! Here's the Explainer: github.com/w3c/csswg-dr...

> Co-browsing is the only model where the developer and the user maintain control over the experience, and the user can take over from the agent at any point. It’s the only model where the web remains the web. Well said!, Very in line with my recent dotAI talk too: www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NDl...

I blogged about my picks for the Interop 2027 project: www.sarasoueidan.com/blog/interop... inspired by @vale.rocks @pawelgrzybek.com @tylersticka.com @ohhelloana.blog and others who have blogged about their rankings.

Going through the Interop list of features interop-rank.fxdx.dev and selecting and ranking the ones I want to see across browsers in 2027. I chose 15 features. At the top of my list are #HTML #a11y features `focusgroup`, ariaNotify(), `headingoffset` and `headingreset`.

Wrote a thing on why we should have interactive lists on the web: sarahmhigley.com/writing/inte... If anyone has their own interactive list use cases that aren't covered, send them to me! I'm putting together an ARIA spec PR this month.

How to capture device audio on the web today? 🎵🔊 getUserMedia() is not for audio only and forces users to go through a screen sharing option. Not great for audio use cases (notetaking, music, ...) We want to fix this. We have a proposal and would love your input ♥️

Link Parameters is the thing that gives you the ability to style embedded external SVGs. Something many have wanted to do for a long time! If you want to show your support of this, give these 2 issues a thumbs-up and comment: 💬 github.com/web-platform... 💬 github.com/web-platform...

It’s a real shame that folk a decade ago weren’t warning developers against utterly insane things like CSS-in-J —  oh.

GitHub@github.com

GitHub.com has fully moved off CSS-in-JS to CSS Modules, resulting in 55% less server-side render time and 25% faster component init. https://github.blog/engineering/architecture-optimization/improving-site-performance-by-shipping-more-css/

Fancy tooltips that use popover and anchor positioning are great. But sometimes all you need is a trustworthy title HTML attribute for a text-only tooltip. 😭 Only problem is: it can't be styled! Do you want these tooltips to be stylable? Maybe with a ::tooltip pseudo. Let me know your use cases!

I've received a lot of responses and had really good discussions on this topic. I also did some additional research of my own. Still thinking about it, but will share back soon.

Thanks, you all, for your responses. I’ve had time to think more about this, read up more on the topic, and did some research. The result ➡️ Opening the can of tooltips, a blog post on our proposal to implement fully accessible and customizable built-in tooltips on the web.

patrickbrosset.comPatrick - Opening the can of tooltipsTooltips seem simple, until you look closer. The title attribute can't be styled and isn't accessible to everyone, while custom tooltips come with plenty of complexity. What would it take to build a n...

ECMAScript excitement 😉 Congrats to @ashley-c.bsky.social from TechAtBloomberg on advancing the Composites proposal to Stage 2 at @tc39.es today 🎉 Composites are objects that are compared by value instead of identity. They are an evolution of Record & Tuple proposal.

Oh very nice! CSS Grid Lanes (aka Masonry) is enabled in Firefox Nightly (159) 😍 Wonder if this will "ride the trains" to the stable channel. Anyone know?

One more call for feedback! Yeah, I know, I often ask for feedback but, think about it, the more you share, the better the feature. 💡Support low-quality image placeholders on the web! ➡️<img previewsrc="preview.avif" src="photo.avif"> ❓Would you use this? What capabilities do you need? Read more⬇️

One interesting thread emerged, downstream from the previewsrc attribute: 🔵 Would you use it to display unrecognizable blurs, because they're really small? 🔵 Or would you use it to show more recognizable previews, if you're willing to spend around 10x more bytes? Share your point of view here ⬇️

Microsoft Edge's #WebMCP implementation is ready for testing, and the team has new demos! Can't get enough pizza related WebMCP demos! 🍕🍕🍕

Showed up at an AI conference today, and talked about the web. Turns out people liked it. Many folks here don’t "build" AI, they’re trying to use it. WebMCP lets you reuse your existing app as is, and gives you a say in how agents use it. Cause they already do.
