What I think is important is to continue caring about the things you love despite anything. The storm will pass. The chaff will be blown away. Good work will continue standing.

Looks like the bottom corner radius has been fixed in the latest iOS 27.2 beta! 🥳

Things that keep me awake at night: the sheet corner radius on iOS 27. Can someone at @Apple please fix this? 😭 FB24902633 #iOSDev #SwiftUI

Hi friends! It’s Thursday, we’re making muffins, I’m putting together this week’s Installer and want to know everything you’re into. What are you watching / reading / playing / putting in the freezer this week? Tell me so I can tell everyone! (And subscribe to Installer!)

Okay frick it, I'm announcing the project I've been working on. It's called Reams, a markdown editor that syncs over atproto spaces. It works offline, doesn't require a login, and has a bunch of features packed in. Try it at reams.ink, install the PWA for the best experience!

Just want to emphasize: this is entirely built with CSS scroll snapping and view timelines – no JS gesture handling or animations. This means we get high frame rate fluid momentum and elastic physics matching the platform for free. It feels native because it really is – modern CSS is pretty amazing.

we have an idea for communities in the app that we're calling "spaces" — places where people can gather around shared interests or social groups. here's a peek at some early prototypes. these are explorations, not polished or final. looking for feedback, esp from community builders 👀

alex benzer@alexbenzer.com

the bsky team is working on various ideas for creating smaller social spaces in the app. which use case is most interesting to you? 1. posting into "topics" that organize public posts 2. posting into "communities" or "groups" that can be public or private 3. posting directly to your followers only

Autumn is in full force with a foggy morning. Brought the camera with me and did a smol shooting for my weather app @oscars.love. I’m so proud of it knowing all the work that went into it the last 5(?) years. I really need to finally get this on the App Store haha 😅 #BuiltInPublic #IndieDev

In this update, I focused on polish and squashing a bunch of small bugs. Tapping a day now takes you to its hourly forecast, and ensembles have their own button there with a refreshed design. Now on TestFlight 👉️ testflight.apple.com/join/xf5iJcHh #BuiltInPublic #IndieDev #Swift 🧵1/2

Built a little drawer system which allows cross run storage of artifacts 📥 Thinking about balancing a bit more and this should help with the meta progression for sure! #Godot #IndieDev #GameDev

The newest Oscar beta comes with a slew of new features: satellite cloud map layer, new hourly detail view, UI reordering, iOS 6 classic mode, on-device statistics, and a way to support Oscar in the future. Now on TestFlight 👉️ testflight.apple.com/join/xf5iJcHh #BuiltInPublic #IndieDev #Swift 🧵1/6

I think paywalling some cosmetics instead of locking essential features is the fairest approach. Let me know what you think! 👇

Oscar Weather@oscars.love

Oscar has running costs and some users might want to support this free project. I won't paywall any features, just some app icons, stickers, and the iOS 6 classic skin. Oscar as a utility will stay free. If you have any feelings or wishes about this, please provide feedback. :) 6/6

I resigned from ExxonMobil today. I spent the last three years doing fossil fuel extraction research at both BP and ExxonMobil. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing to maximize extraction while the window to act closes, and gambling with our lives. More below.

Frens, if within the last few days you have blocked someone explicitly for being *rude*, I'd appreciate it if you could give me their handle. I tinker, and need more data. DMs are open, I'll be as discrete as the receptionist at The Continental. Thanks!

I’m getting amazed by how many decisions are being made completely on random. I first realized that when I used to work on political campaigns/strategy in uni, but disregarded it as politicians being politicians. But now, interacting with people doing decisions in tech, it turns out its the same.

nitter.net is down. xcancel.com may go soon, too. all the respect to the folks at nitter for their services so far, but to be honest, X completely locking itself out of the web is probably a net positive for us all in the long term
