When you have debug, staging, and prod builds side-by-side on your phone, you want to tell them apart at a glance. Mustafa Natur's Blueprint generates an Xcode-style blueprint icon with version and beta badges: go.peterfriese.dev/tools-bluep...

I wish every coding agent read this line from @sarunw.com: "You don't need to add glassEffect() or change the existing code to see the difference." Sarun compared native SwiftUI controls on iOS 17.5 and iOS 26 side-by-side. Standard controls pick up the new look automatically!

I had Gemini 4 analyse all my Keynote presentations - almost 300 .key files (each with several hundred slides - I heavily rely on Magic Move) in less than 20 minutes (while I was on a train, no less). Here is what it found:

I haven't seen a single AI coding agent that has good taste for building good-looking and functional UIs - unless you tech them with a skill.

I end all of my newsletter intros with "hit reply - I read every email". And I actually mean it! This week, Stephan emailed me, looking for the print detail of Jace's physical copy of The Swift Programming Language book I mentioned in issue 94 (peterfriese.dev/newsletter/...).

peterfriese.devNot only Swift - Issue #94Someone printed a physical copy of the Swift Programming Language book, and it looks fantastic! Plus: Explore the rise of agentic coding with Pi and OpenClaw, and dive into Swift-based vector databases for on-device RAG.

This conversation led to two great things 👇 1) Stephan shared a glimpse of a 300 page book on Swift generative art he's printing for his vacation (mind-blowing work).

Developers hate adding dependencies to their code bases. So, instead of adding a UI library, why not copy paste highly polished components to your app? This concept has been popularised by ShadCN, and SwiftPieces follows the same concept.

Ok, Swift fam. A Swift SDK for GCP is a *great* start, but we (also) need an Firebase SDK for the server side. Can we bump the votes for this up to get it close to the votes for KMP support? Cast your vote (link in the first reply)
