I uploaded a picture but when sharing it seems to think it's a video - when opening the link it also treats it as a video and it doesn't work Super happy to see progress on this being made and congrats to the launch!

The ATmosphere needs something like Google+'s circles. I understand why some people want different feeds on different platforms, but some of us prefer having an unified list of following/followers across services. Otherwise, this looks great!

We're hoping to release OAuth as soon as atprotodart's OAuth implementation supports PDS resolution instead of just one PDS.

Yeah I see you left a issue on github @knotbin.com but it’s been a few months w/o (public) response and this seems like something easy enough, maybe just PR it?, just to get it done and over with so any kinks in the actual oauth can be addressed

why do you care about whether I installed it from Play Store or aurora store (literally an alternative frontend for Google play), playstore has age gate for apps like this and I don't want to give google my id :/

A little disappointed this is basically a 'brand new start' and isn't connected to my bluesky data (followers, feeds, etc) like other apps. I was so excited to use the Videos For You feed on Spark. Would fill out the lack of content right now so much.

We’ll support all Bsky video feeds! Follows are separate so you can follow different people on either experience but we’ll make it easier to follow others that use both! Coming very soon

I’m glad to see a TikTok clone that isn’t using all BlueSky data. However, the flip side of that problem is now it feels like I can get through all the content in 10 seconds in the discover feed. Maybe you could have a hybrid feed of curated posts from both until you become sustainable?

We support bluesky feeds, the ‘video’ feed right now is all bluesky content so that should be pretty much infinite. We’ll ultimately support all Bsky video feeds and ofc Spark feeds but having a hybrid starts to get super complex.

My wife wouldn’t ever use Skylight for 2 reasons: 1) all the posts automatically go to blue sky. 2) it doesn’t have the same funny / entertainment party vibe (political stuff can be in the feed, but it needs to be good fun-first mix)

The fix to this is building right now. Should be out in about 5 minutes for iOS and a few hours for Android (has to go through review for Android).

0.5.0 is also rolling out now! It adds a ton of new features: 📽️ There's a fully redesigned editor for making videos 📨 You can repost posts and see which of your friends liked or reposted a post. 🚩 You can block people and report people & posts There's also haptics, labels, and a bunch of bug fixes.

hey spark team, how do i add custom sounds? or is that ability restricted somehow? i only see the ability to overlay existing sounds in the editor

Right now sounds are just ‘original sounds’ from videos posted so you can remix memetic audio from other videos, to create a new one just post a video with its own audio. Uploading sounds directly probably makes more sense through a music app 👀 or a separate licensed music library

Why is everything separate except for my login? I already follow people so having a separate app that knows who I follow and doesn’t care about that is odd.

There was feedback that users wanted to be able to follow separate people than they did on bluesky. We are working on adding an import feature.

Sooo… what’s the integration with atproto then besides a basic login? When I log in with my account I assume I’m going to bring my social graph with me. If that doesn’t happen then it’s just another app to me that I have to spend time on to find people.

pretty sure the point of atproto is to have a social graph you own and can migrate, not a social graph that is across all apps the people I follow on here are not the people I'd follow on tiktok, and it'd be annoying if I was forced into that (which luckily I'm not)

We're fully built into atproto. All records write directly to your repo. We're working on adding more Bluesky integration but we've received feedback in the past that people want the ability to follow people on Spark and not on Bluesky.

The permissions seem overly broad for this app, I think only specific Spark repo/lexicon permissions should be enough, no Bluesky profile management and also no Authenticate permissions should be needed...?
