Damn I feel old, haven't played in a long time but every year when worlds come around I still find myself following it, rooting that eu teams may win for once

Birthday: League of Legends On this day, October 27th—17 years ago, in 2009—League of Legends was officially Released.

I actually look forward to getting back to work now after more than 2 weeks of vacation, hope this feeling lasts once I actually get back to it

I've picked up "Ghost Nation" by @heguisen.bsky.social in traditional Chinese. Hoping to use this as both a language learning exercise and to learn a lot more about the country. Will take me a long time to get through this though as I kinda have to go sentence by sentence.

In this spirit, the DMA must be extended to social media. The European social media industry has been asking for this for the longest time. We know that we can take this market by storm if it is ever opened up to competition and freedom of movement.

Teresa Ribera@teresaribera.ec.europa.eu

Europe has made a sovereign choice: digital markets should be fair and contestable. 🇪🇺 Enforcing the Digital Markets Act means protecting that level playing field and creating the conditions for more companies to grow, innovate and compete in Europe.

I dunno man, recently I had to take over my colleagues mac for a presentation because the screen didn't get detected on my computer, running NixOS. I love Nix but this seems a bit of overstatement.

Isaac Corbrey@isaaccorbrey.com

The benefits of Nix are basically complete confidence in your system working at all times. It's great. The downsides of Nix are you have to read and write Nix. It's not great.

Absolutely ridiculous

The most surprising thing about Taiwan so far is the lag of alcohol consumption - it's a good thing but after I spent many months in Korea before it's not what I expected. Many restaurants don't even serve beer. If they do I rarely see people take it. I'm in Taichung tho, maybe Taipei differs.

Replying to @ingmar.wsocial.eu

My position is completely public: I want W gone. I have no financial interests in this, and I don’t hide behind an anonymous account. That’s the difference between you and me: I say openly what I think and I do it for free! #WsocialFacts #Wsocial

Dear friends who don't speak German: Go to YouTube ASAP, turn on subtitles → autogenerated translation and watch this video! TL;DR: #WSocial is posting legal names, nationalities and approx. birthdays of verified users as a public record on the Atmosphere. Confronted, they claim it's "by design" 🤯

I'm a free information radical. I have spent most of my career publishing open-source code and building open-information systems. I grew up getting access to knowledge that I never would've otherwise had because of the Internet. The past 5 years have accelerated it. I think the future is bright.

Wrote about motivations for creating @shelf.cafe, (another) link aggregator site, why I'm using atproto for it, and how I'm trying to bootstrap it. Will follow with more posts on all the juicy technical details ps you can now add an upvote widget to your blog! jola.dev/posts/buildi...

Schon erstaunlich, wie gut die PR von #WSocial funktioniert: Breiteste Berichterstattung sogar in Fernsehnachrichten bei unkritischer Wiederholung der Talking Points des Startups plus Werbetweets durch von der Leyen. Dabei sollte man schon genauer hinschauen: netzpolitik.org/2026/soziale...

This is as egregious as it's hilarious. Can we *please* get DMA horizontal interoperability for social media @teresaribera.ec.europa.eu, the European social internet is more than ready, we just need an open market to compete in.

Suw@suw.bsky.social

Fucking hell. Facebook is now limiting the number of links that a page or professional profile can include in a post to TWO PER MONTH, unless you pay them $7.99 a month. Fucking assholes.

pentesting is such a joke industry, most companies just run burp suite on you, rebrand the output with their logo and make it look custom (usually this means worse than the direct burp suite output) and charge you money for that.

Isn't it interesting how good things encourage more good things and "bad" things encourage more bad things? When reading, reflecting and planning the upcoming week, I feel like drinking a tea and maybe stretching. When binge watching attack on titan I feel like snacking and eating junk food.
