Because they see that in trying to define that shared membership of whiteness, horrific racism usually pours out. AKA "White identitarianism." And that racism is often factually inaccurate and inconsistent.🤷🏿‍♂️

The debate on if White should be capitalized or not really comes down to: Does white mean a distinct group, like Black, or Asian? Similar to the word "American?" Or does white mean "lack of membership to one of the other groups, because white is the default?" More like non-citizen?
