These people are just gutter racists, there isn’t more to it

The Bulwark@thebulwark.com

Vance: "We have to understand what happens when our nation gives in to these kinds of people, to young men with zero attachment to its land or to its history...The desire to destroy rather than the desire to build, that exact same cancer is what has corrupted Abdul El-Sayed writ large."

Actually I was intimately involved in brokering this truce, too. Every story you write about it should refer to it as my truce or the truce that I supported

Bloomberg News@bloomberg.com

Russia and Ukraine halted fighting around Oleshky, a war-ravaged town in the Russian-controlled part of southern Ukraine, under a rare local ceasefire brokered with the involvement of US First Lady Melania Trump

It’s funny to me that Cenk is considered left wing because I feel like he pops up once every couple of months because he said something very right wing

Yeah, this is really bad. It's good that El-Sayed distanced himself from it, but I am in awe at how Cenk's left-wing PAC managed to combine antisemitism with transphobia and pitch it as *supporting* the Democrat in this race.

Tennessee farmer's fuel bill was $20,000 for just 2 weeks: "I wish they could see what it costs us to plant a crop and what we are getting paid... A farmer doesn't like a handout. He would rather have a fair market."

Love that we’re already doing the “actually republicans are great we’re friends I love them so much” thing

The Bulwark@thebulwark.com

Q: "If you win the Senate and if Nancy Lacore wins...does that mean South Carolina is actually purple?" Annie Andrews: "I think this is just going to be a reset of this hyper-divisive sort of path that we've been on, and this is going to be a rejection of that hyper-partisan era of politics."

Any politician who’s willing to throw away one group’s rights is willing to throw away everyone’s rights. It’s that simple. Every single consultant, pundit and candidate who’s shown a willingness to abandon trans rights needs to be shunned from the party forever

BeshearStan@beshearstan.bsky.social

Kansas Dem Sen. nominee Adam Hamilton on trans rights: “I don’t think we should take a small group of people and bully them, pick on them, and hurt them. I understand one thing really clearly when it comes to transgender people, and that is Jesus told me I was to love my neighbor as I love myself”

“Which means that people who invested heavily in oil and gas companies right before the war I started, like me and my family and biggest donors, are making a mint off of you rubes.”

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "While oil prices are temporarily high ... the United States oil and gas business is making hundreds of billions of dollars"

Anti-trans Democrats are spreading poison when we can least afford it, during elections in this ongoing fascist takeover. As a strategy, it’s a recipe for failure. As a moral stand, it’s reprehensible. PS I’m the father of young trans woman and I’ll never forgive anyone who makes her life harder.

Are you saying you’d like to make the US more like Norway, Sweden, and Denmark, sir?

FactPost@factpostnews.bsky.social

Trump: Why do we always have to take people from shithouse countries? Why can't we take people from like, Norway? Sweden? Denmark?

Stochastic assault and murder should be charges

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "Somalia -- 98% of the people here now from Somalia don't work. They don't have to work because they steal so much. They all have a Mercedes Benz. Low IQ and they live better than you do."

I admit I find it unlikely that Trump would remove the room where the world goes to hear his propaganda to replace it with a room dedicated to exercise

TrumpReposter@trumpreposter.bsky.social

(1/2) There is a Fake News report out there that I am going to remove the White House Press Room and bring back the old Swimming Pool, which lies directly underneath. Although I may move the Fake News to a less obnoxious location, the old swimming pool will never be brought

We cannot simply “move forward”, we cannot “look ahead, not behind”

BREAKING: The Trump DOJ just sent letters to local election officials across California — every county in the state — demanding they identify potential noncitizens on their voter rolls and set aside their ballots. Local officials would "risk significant federal scrutiny" if they failed to comply.

This is more about the way we watch tv than what we watch, but I had to explain to my kids what a commercial was when we were staying in a hotel (they were in elementary school)

you kids who grew up in the 2000s don't understand that television is a completely different art form than it was in the 80s and early 90s. in a generally good way.

‘Wicker’ stars Alexander Skarsgård as a man made entirely of wicker, complete with a rock-hard wicker dick. But what about splinters? Bacteria? Degradation? Would it be advisable, from a sexual-health perspective, to mount a basket dick? We asked a gynecologist: vulture.visitlink.me/DNQwX5

Gosh who could possibly have seen it coming, OH WAIT he already did it once before and is therefore already disqualified from holding office on account of all the OATHBREAKING TREASON

Andy Craig@andycraig.bsky.social

We'll see how far the attempt goes, even if it will clearly fail. But a constitutional system that sees such an attempt by its chief executive and then leaves him in office has already been shattered. Merely trying is betrayal enough and places him outside of constitutional or democratic legitimacy.

Good news! You can now be scammed by someone pretending to be your dumbest friend!

In the last presidential election, Democrats’ support among young voters was their lowest in two decades. Two years later, polls show that 18-to-29-year-old voters are returning to the party in large numbers. nyti.ms/4zR2FQV

Regular people don’t know what they’re looking at and go “what is this?” Really, really dumb guys don’t know what they’re looking at and go “this is the same thing I’ve always been looking at.”

Jake Grumbach@jakemgrumbach.bsky.social

A helpfully clear exchange here Hasan: "So your argument is that [Minnesota ICE protesters] should stay at home because immigration is a salient issue for Donald Trump. Opposing ICE is only going to help Trump. Wait until we win the election in 2028." Yglesias: "Yes that is what I would have said"

Where’s Hebron?

Ramaswamy has produced an attack ad weaponizing the rape of his opponent, Amy Acton, when she was 12 years old. It features Acton’s mother, who abandoned Acton after she was raped by her step-father, fleeing the state with her husband. Here is the corporate money helping fund that ad.

California voters will decide next month whether roughly 250 billionaires in the state must pay a one-time tax on their riches. Mark Zuckerberg says he would need to sell Meta stock to pay the 5 percent tax on his assets under California’s voter measure.

Who fucking cares? No seriously, why should any American care that Mark Zuckerberg has to own slightly less of something in order to pay his taxes? Guess what, that’s how it works for everyone else, too
