Oh hi it's me. Unemployed since January and burning through NC's limited unemployment. Over 30 years in my field (#nptech) and cannot even get an interview. It's so demoralizing, and that's exactly by design. Fascism wants us weak & isolated so that we don't stand up for ourselves or each other.

People who lose their jobs in this economy are taking longer to find new work. Nearly four in ten people exhaust their unemployment benefits before they land a new job. n.pr/4s0WyH8

Brazilians recommending not to amplify right-wing talking points by dunking and quoting, as a winning strategy Next day, my tl is full of people dunking on rfk jr I literally would not have seen the bigotry if it wasn't for y'all repeating it. That's exactly what the Brazilians were on about!

In this year's least surprising news: "Support for women does not translate into greater support for excluding transgender people. In fact, individuals with the most negative views of women and gender equality are the most likely to support these bans." theconversation.com/are-transgen...

Just a reminder that there is no good data to support these uses in K12, we are just testing it live all on kids who won’t ever be these ages again and can’t get them back if we fuck it up.

If still debating whether Donald Trump or Elon Musk willfully crippled Ukraine's missile defense, helping to slay innocent civilians, you are a rube. If the U.S. President had no role, then an oligarch governs national security. If not, the U.S. President serves Russia. Both answers are mortifying.

I know there's a lot going on but I feel it should probably be more of an above-the-fold story that members of Congress released a thoroughly documented report directly accusing the president of the United States of being a serial rapist.

Trump's odd recent rally rhetoric is ultimately beside the point; surpassing anything else, his sexual orientation is 'nonconsensual.' Violating boundaries thrills him. Even his talk of Husted makes treats him as a slab of meat — there for Trump to ogle and manhandle.

Yes, making the richest people in the world even richer at the cost of human knowledge, skill, and labor is the dream of all working class people everywhere. We were put on this earth to give our bodies, minds, and soul to the technologists to devour and sell it back to us. That’s liberation.

For everyone in the replies: AI weather models are one of the good use cases (and I hate most AI). AI weather models take a small fraction of the computing power compared to traditional weather models (see: www.noaa.gov/news-release...). DeepMind's tropical forecast abilities are stellar.
