Finding out how many panics your Rust code contains isn't trivial. When existing methods weren't a good fit for our client, Wouter created Call Graph Analyzer, the first tool to make this practical. Read how it works: tweedegolf.nl/en/blog/242/... @wassasin.bsky.social #rustlang #embeddedrust

I rely heavily on dictation and have used most of the dictation apps out there... Avette has been dope in my first hour of trying it. The realtime output is much nicer than what I've seen in Handy, SuperWhisper, VoiceInk or Hex. Fully local and free to try out. Not sponsored, just enamoured.

Just got my first real sale for @avette.eu ✨ super super happy about it. It's a dictation app for macOS, the productized version of what I've been using for a year. It's really very good, I encourage you to download and try it out, should be fresh air after whisper/parakeet/apple stuff x)

i really dislike this purity argument, where having some kinds of restricted mutation preserving strong guarantees is the same as “doing almost nothing to restrict normal mutability”

- There’s a set of properties you’re trying to prove, right? So someone has to write and review that. At risk of flippancy, that’s just the programming job again, writing that stuff.

I did though

42 weeks into the year: It's still going! 2 weeks of work travel went ~as expected, but I'm happy it ended up mostly flat, and not mostly upwards. I'm likely to hit the original goal of 80kg by EoY, probably not the 75kg stretch goal. Still a win :) Down a total of 19.2kg/42.4lbs, and 67.8% done.

36 weeks into the year: It's still going! Recently bumped up my activity level by trying to consistently walk 30-60m a day, it seems to be helping the progress. One graph of the last 6mo (with variance bars), one graph of the whole year (without). Down a total of 17.9kg/39.4lbs, and 62.9% done.

Hey friends, I’m looking for my next gig - ideally something deep in a perf-sensitive stack, somewhere in Rust land. Would appreciate a boost!

For his internship, Camiel dove into using TrustZone-M with Rust. In this blog, he describes how TrustZone-M currently helps you secure your embedded device and shares a minimal working example for the Raspberry Pi Pico 2: buff.ly/mrqtUs2 #rustlang #embeddedrust #security

Please, install and test the latest probe-rs. @dbuga.bsky.social merged all of my proposed fixes/improvements. If you have cortex-m devices, make sure to check that there are no known regressions. I checked with STM32G071RB, MCXA266, MSPM0G3519, and STM32F405.

somewhat more seriously, a big reason we are not currently selling something like a 4- or 8-node appliance for edge deployments like retail or manufacturing (the closest thing to “Oxide homelab”) is that the compute sleds are tightly integrated with the switch, and you wouldn’t want them alone

proud to share that I was selected to serve on the Rust Project Leadership Council! my role's to represent the interests of the top-level Language team, and all sub-teams =)

I've always assumed that the build tool "buck" was named after the parts used to shape a form in vacuum forming or leather working (literally, a tool for building something), but I actually can't find any mention of that, and I'm slightly amazed they backed into a good play on words by accident.
