Fascism is not simply something someone *is*, it is something people do and build. The decades of neoliberal attacks on Labor, including that of American Democrats, helped lead us to where we are. I'd encourage everyone celebrating these wins by hurting people to reflect and learn.

I'm no stranger to terminally online trans women taking their shit out on each other because they don't have supports, healthy coping strategies etc. but I'll never excuse it. I actively avoid trans spaces IRL because of how often this kind of thing happens. I'm so over being attacked by my own.

This is a GREAT example of people *doing* fascism even if they identify as progressive. Anyone who has touched grass in the last week can tell you that, no, obviously the tiny, tiny minority of anarchists aren't responsible for "handing over power" to fascists. That's nothing short of ridiculous

Thank God I *am* an anarchist because being so demands a meaningful analysis of politics and history along with a strong conviction to positive social values. I know and you know that the failures of the Democrats, Russian influence and decades of fascist organizing led us to this moment in the US

Blue MAGA liberals can't even just be happy with a win without needing to identify more out-groups to attack. Part of what anti-fascists oppose your tactics is because we recognize that you, too, are ultimately fascists.

I think the mistake liberals make with this is misunderstanding the anti-fascist project To root fascist influence out of society, it's not sufficient to get "the one big bad" out of power (often temporarily). You have to attack fascist organizing, propaganda etc Voting doesn't accomplish all that

Not all fascists are the same nor are their projects. Hitler is a great example. The man was literally in jail before being elected and then remaining in power by stripping democratic controls. Trump-era stochastic terrorism doesn't take place merely from the seat of the white house.

Like, I think its ridiculous to center AI as integral to the fascist project, full stop, its actually a huge distraction (not ICE? Not ongoing trans persecution?) and there's no reason to entertain. Just follow your own personal conscience here

I would really love to believe that the technologists among those of us on the side of the struggle against fascism could feel welcome to contribute. Having read people like Clara Zetkin, I really believe that having a nuanced understanding only helps you fight back. Refusing to engage blinds you.

and I certainly don't mean "engaging with fascists." That's best avoided. Early German resistance to the nazi party wound up being ineffectual because of their refusal to engage in tactics that a deeper understanding of how fascists operate informed. Standing on idealism accomplishes nothing.
