Wait until you finally realize that Daemons actually control everything. When hackers get in, what they most want to do is control those daemons. Terrified? You should be. You should be, Nate.

That‘s mostly correct. You run it, it executes orders, and if you don‘t like the results, you change the orders. If it‘s done or you‘ve had enough, you order it to stop. If it doesn‘t follow orders, you kill it. Hardly recognizable that the military was involved 🤣

When you have some "dead timee," what do you do with it? Many will say they "kill" it, right? And a lot of those people do things like surf social media to do so. We had a power outage last night and no internet. I actually finished a lot of housework. I should stay off the internet more often.

Don't forget to kill the children and garbage collect them so that they don't consume resources when not needed and make sure to keep your slaves obedient by optimizing the commands sent by the master!

If higher level languages are equivalent to shopping at a supermarket as you don't see the process by which the chicken nuggets are made, does that make C programmers the hunters of the software world? 👀

Well, the first Windows OS ran on something called QDOS Quick Dirty Operating System "Quick and Dirty" sounds like a mob hit. "Tony, go make Jimmy disappear. Make it Quick and Dirty."

Wiki article for zombie processes: “A child process initially becomes a zombie… Under normal system operation, zombies are immediately waited on by their parent and then reaped.” It’s a bloodbath.

Was in Cambodia in the '90s. There was a Monkey Virus going around that had a special removal tool. Had a native freak out when he saw killmonk.exe on my computer. Was almost an international incident.

I'm inclined to disagree. There was a time that IBM big-iron was the gold standard; Imitators even going through the trouble of emulating known IBM system errors so that client software investment would work as expected.
