My exploration into Entity-Component-Systems (again), by porting our old iPhone game to current day #Bevy. Lots of learning about Rust and Bevy practices for me here. It's interesting how 4 huge classes, from the original, are getting split to more than a hundred small systems. #gamedev #indiedev

E2E tests ❤️ for game logic 2/2 We have a range of enemy movements, action sequences, attacks, defences and special capabilities like spawning minions, or mirroring attacks back at the player Wizard. Automated battle arena validates those, logging to sqlite even! Has turbo too. #gamedev #indiedev

I like having end-to-end tests for game logic, 1/2 Here, a part of the test harness is tailored test maps for scenarios where various Wizard Quest mechanics can be tested in isolation, but for real, the execution matches the actual game. These can be played manually or scripted. #gamedev #indiedev

Zelenskyy: "When our strikes reached Yandex data centers, it suddenly became little easier to breathe on many social media platforms. Many people noticed it. There was less hate, less division, fewer provocations because there were fewer bots. It's pretty clear where those bots were coming from.

"Ukraine is the most modern military force that we have in Europe today. It is a buffer zone and an impediment to potential Russian aggression." — Stubb I respect Stubb, but never did I imagine myself saying that I'm from a buffer zone for Europe, where we are not people, but a function,

Salaojaremppoja kilpailuttaessani aina haluttiin mies paikalle. No mähä hain. 'Kulta siis onks tää se kattoremppa?" Ukkoni kysy enoin yhdeltä niistä. Toiselle heitti, et tosi suloista, et mua tähä halutaan. Kolmannelta kysy, saisko kaloja vallihautaan. "Mut siis hyvin vedit. Oliks tää tässä?

Today, on Navajo Code Talkers Day we honor the courage & service of those who served our nation during World War II. We are grateful to every Navajo Code Talker & to every New Mexican who has worn the uniform & answered the call to serve. Their service, sacrifice, & legacy will never be forgotten.

Todd Blanche: “I am not sure of the uproar of having a Border Patrol or ICE agent at a polling location. What's the risk?” Uhm, maybe because it’s illegal? Federal statute 18 U.S.C. § 592 prohibits deploying “troops or armed men” to locations where elections are held. An AG should know this.

The latest Nino 3.4 data. Yesterday's Nino 3.4 sea-surface temperature set the 60th consecutive daily record high for the Nino 3.4 region, and was 0.83°C higher than the previous record for July 28th, which came at the start of the 1997/98 El Nino.

1/ 🧵⬇️ Erinomainen essee.

Pornainen, Finland (pop 5,000) is now heated by a silo of crushed soapstone. I spoke to CNBC about it. 100 MWh, charged when power is cheap, emissions down ~70%. Days to weeks of storage, no critical minerals. www.cnbc.com/2026/07/25/f...

The fact that Witkoff and Kushner have visited Moscow multiple times but never Kyiv proves they aren't taking their job seriously. It’s just a grift. Pathetic!

As long expected. It’s climate science 101. The vapor thirst of the atmosphere increases exponentially with temperature. A law of physics known since the early 19th C (Clausius–Clapeyron law). It causes more drought even if rainfall doesn’t decline. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

China wants renewable energy consumption to jump 53% over the next five years and to convert intermittent wind and solar into more dependable sources of electricity

We’re turning up the pressure on Russia’s shadow fleet. The oil tanker MV SOUTH STAR, suspected of sailing under false flag in breach of international maritime law, has been boarded on 20 July by Operation @EUNAVFOR_MED IRINI forces for flag verification. (1/3)

Miksi EU uhkaa vesittää päästökauppaa? Koska Euroopassa on liikaa vastuuttomia vellihousuja päättäjinä, ja fossiililobbareita ja energiapolitiikkaansa tunaroineita maita kuunnellaan ja paijataan liikaa. www.uusijuttu.fi/juttu/sXNvHN...

⚡️ Russian attacks kill at least 10, injure 87 over past day, heavily damaging residential areas across Ukraine. Sumy came under repeated Russian strikes, reflecting Moscow's growing use of double-tap attacks, which cause further destruction and put both civilians and rescuers at risk.

With 57% of its electricity now coming from renewables, including 22% from solar & 21% from wind, Spain built one of Europe's most impressive electricity systems. Solar is now the country's fastest-growing source of power & has helped drive some of the lowest wholesale electricity prices in Europe.

Komission tänään julkistettu esitys päästökaupan uudistamisesta säilyttäisi järjestelmän kantavat rakenteet, mutta heikentäisi ilmastovaikuttavuutta monin paikoin. Vaikka esitys sisältää myös joitakin parannuksia, nettovaikutus on ilmastolle selvästi kielteinen. Lisää tiedotteessani.

"But it was hot in 1936..." The Dust Bowl summer of 1936 remains one of the hottest in U.S. history. The difference is that 1936 was an exceptionally hot event in one region, while today, much of the entire planet is running warmer than average at the same time.
