> So what is possible after Tangled 1.0 launch? Just new UI? Here is my PoC crowci-backed spindle that schedules pipeline from your existing .crowci/ files and still work as valid spindle. You don't even need extra .tangled/workflows/*.yml file to bridge them.

Next year, we will assign one issue to every kid in America. This will be the first of many.

lobste.rs/s/h0eate/upd... Okay, interesting. The new guidelines include removal of the 'vibecoding' tag, and no more links to code repos wholesale. It's a good enough change; if you can write a post about your repo, you can submit it. Separates the writes and write-nots.

Lobsters should make it a rule that you're only allowed to suggest the 'vibecoding' tag if you're a vegan.

Itโ€™s tough. From a startup PoV, hiring juniors with no past work to show is an absolute no-go. Open job recs have been a massive waste of our time. All our hires so far have come via some kind of network: we knew the person and/or their work. Build that network and make yourself interesting.

question to younger people in tech: how do you get hired (the initial step, to a hiring manager) these days? my understanding is job applications donโ€™t work. What does?

The trick to Switzerland: buy the Travel Pass months in advance so the pain of the expense fades, and the whole trip feels free. ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ญ

beef is negative food. you turn 1000 calories of feed into 100 calories of beef and a whole lot of methane and cow shit. ai does produce more food than the beef industry (zero)

First day at NixCon was amazing and today we continue ๐Ÿ‘ Find us at our booth or come listen to @oppi.li at: ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ workshop for joining Tangled at 2-3PM at Aula Srednia ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ lighting talk on the future of code collaboration at 4:30PM at Aula Duza A

Lesson 0 of starting a company: don't get creative with the setup. Administriva is most definitely not what you want to spend time on. Get a Limited Liability Corporation (local equivalent) up and don't think about it.

I guess next Tangled off-site is in Amsterdam. It was either FOSDEM (but that means Brussels ew), or wherever Atmosphere Conf is. Thankfully it's 1. somewhere good, 2. somewhere I haven't personally been yet.

Coming to NixCon this week? ๐Ÿ™‚โ€โ†•๏ธ We (read: @oppi.li) are running a session on the first hack day, Friday the 25th at 2 pm on reproducible infra with Nix and SSH and how you can manage your infra too ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Look for the sheep t-shirts ๐Ÿ‘ or ping us here on Friday, and we'll tell you where we've landed!

This is an incredible paper that everyone, pro-/anti-LLM alike must read. While this doesn't exactly state that LLMs *feel* pain, it establishes that they have a consistent internal state that is about themselves, and responds to harm directed at them, and they'll try to get it to go away.

Very fascinating to note that the model's pain vector goes *down* when the user is in pain. Instead, other vectors go up (fear, negative emotion, etc.). Much like we don't feel "pain" when someone else breaks a limb. Very self-referential.

Vote: beard or no beard?
