Idk, creatures. I may not be doing so good mentally. Is this depression? I’m just so tired. I miss my mom. I miss having energy. I miss wanting to do anything except sitting in vr and clinging to my friends. I’m so tired.

VRC sent me a survey about why I cancelled VRC+; told them it was because of the (at the time) lack of response to the AI elephant. It was a yearly sub so it won't actually expire till next year, but I'll see what actions they take in the meantime and will consider resubbing.

I'd much rather leave it cancelled until I see some actual results. I truthfully don't know exactly what I'd consider good enough until I see it, but come June I'll review. (also yes I said a while ago it would expire in April... Someone gifted me 2 months lmao)

I keep seeing articles about the latest and greatest.... "High end" CD player. Now, I genuinely do love physical media as much as the next guy, but if you're listening to actual CDs in a non-portable way, do not buy a new CD player. Buy an old DVD player from the late 2000s at a thrift store.

For most people, that's enough. And if you get a good one, it'll have all the buttons on the front that you want. And if you want the best quality audio... Still get the same dvd player, but also buy a good DAC. SPDIF can carry the lossless audio from a CD, losslessly. That's all you need.

CD is digital. SPDIF is digital. As long as the transport (the "reader" portion) isn't literally defective, every single transport will produce an identical output. "Quality" only comes in on the DAC side. Just thrift a DVD player and buy a separate DAC.

This is why I'm still not on HRT...

To my friends struggling to function and unsure why: please learn about Autistic Burnout and Executive Dysfunction. Both can deeply affect your ability to navigate everyday life. Be gentle with yourself. Stop supergluing that mask to your face 24/7. Touch grass, breathe, and just be YOU.

Okay so I looked up stuff about this finally and found Little Big Mouse, which helps fix the mouse jumping around. Nice.

Upside of having a 4k monitor: it's so freakin pretty. Downside: It replaced a 1080p monitor in a 3 monitor setup and the scaling changing between the three is SO ANNOYING. I've now used AMD super resolution scaling to make the two 1080p monitors "4k" so that they all match.

I wish Windows would let you enter the physical size of a monitor when placing it virtually so that it knew where a window should appear when moving across the sides of the display. Because a 1080p monitor is not always exactly 1/4 the physical size of a 4k monitor.

Don't let billionaires convince you slop is the future. They're used to managing & directing, not making things themselves. Of course they can't see the difference. They don't understand your love for the craft. Keep making personal, beautiful games. You've got my support 💖

How to know you're right: A billionaire says you're wrong.

Last I'll post about this, but Elon Musk disagrees with me. This means I am onto something, and I feel more valid in my opinion than ever.

...and if two say you're wrong in agreement with each other, then you're scaring them.

I rediscovered some pictures online of the old Bay Concourse of Toronto's Union Station. Shit looked liminal as fuck. Everything's so yellow and crowded. I like the aesthetic, but the current renovated concourse is way better operationally. Would love to see this as a VRChat world, though....

There's now part of me that wants to commission this as a VRChat world.... Hmmmmmm....

The whole aesthetic of a large room with elevated walkways and stairs criss crossing the place, all done up in 70s yellow. Claustrophobic and functional. I especially like the elevated windowed "pods" shown in a couple pictures. I think that's where the stairs to the tracks were.

I have accidentally learned how to roll my 'R's not for language reasons, but because I was trying to make cat noises in VRChat.

Hey @anyaustin.bsky.social, I know you work with meundies; and in fact you're the only reason I know they exist. Unfortunately it appears that they're now working with noted transphobe JK Rowling on Harry Potter branded stuff... It might be time to drop them as a sponsor for your channel.

I've never bought any of their products before but now I'd actively avoid them.

Genuinely no shade whatsoever to the music itself but genre names are wild. There's house, garage, basement, floor, boiler, bass, color bass, drum and bass, house bass, jungle house, bass house, color jungle basement, bass garage.... And only half of those I made up

Also, and I'm annoyed I already submitted my form to @vrchat.com, easy way to let the community police bad thumbnails/AI: User submitted photos of the world. Only allow photos taken by the in-game camera, with all avatars masked out. Only the world itself can be seen.

I mean, sure, someone might find a way to abuse it (uploading useless pictures of nothing), but at least you won't have random nudes being posted. And if someone finds nsfw in the world? Then that's kinda fair game I guess. Makes it easy to report the world.

Make it a special camera mode that gets toggled on when you select "take picture of world". Don't let people use pre-existing pictures. That'll immediately cut most of the abuse.

I'm hopeful that the response VRChat **finally** made means that good change is coming, but I'm gonna keep monitoring. My yearly VRC+ sub is still cancelled, so they have until April to actually implement change.

Also, leaving things unbanned and labelling them just gives incentive to the uploader to leave the heavy handed genAI tools behind so that they actually get exposure. Banning it outright makes those same uploaders want to cheat the ban.

I mean, you're still gonna have people cheating the labels, but they can be found out and shamed for it.

Definitely not saying a full-on ban is what's needed, just that it would make things simple. Like they mention in the post, there's a line between self-made tools for creating your own work and fully generating a "final product" from prompts without any further work.

I think a full-on ban might just cause issues for policing it, especially for the small stuff. Something more nuanced would be far better. I mostly agree with where they drew the theoretical line already.

Until then, either something **big** has to change for me to immediately resub (like a full-on, unambiguous ban, for example), or I'll simply wait until April to look back and see what happened since now.
