Will anyone—anyone at all—ask Trump about the rape allegations published in an official report by the House Judiciary Democrats? Or will he continue to escape accountability for his violence?

Victory for Lula, who has already reduced Amazon deforestation by 70% since 2022, means there is now a chance of ending deforestation of the rainforest entirely I’m weeping with joy for Brazil, for the Indigenous peoples of the Amazon, and for life on Earth 🇧🇷🌳🌎 www.theguardian.com/world/2026/o...

Turning out to vote is a far more revolutionary act than smashing up the streets ever can be. In fact the latter feeds the authoritarian vultures. I hope European democracies can give young people something worth voting for in the next few months as Lula has done for Brazilians.

Brazil is also a warning to treat current Presidential polling in France with a bit of caution. If the rise of the radical right is a global trend, so is last minute counter movements & tactical voting against those same forces. Lula is unique but the pattern here isn’t!

The achievement of Serbian students overthrowing Aleksandar Vučić can't be overstated. In 2024, they began protesting. In 2025, they transformed a protest movement into civil dissidence. In 2026, they became a political party — and two months later, crushed a corrupt state-entrenched authoritarian.

As the government sits on its hands and hopes it all sorts itself out without any more money, a reminder of who replaces the BBC and World Service around the world...

Thomas I-G@thomasig.bsky.social

In many ways, govt already accepted defeat to our enemies, as the BBC warned last yr: "Two years ago, the BBC closed its Arabic radio service in favour of its digital-based service... That same year Russia's Sputnik started a 24-hour service in Lebanon, occupying the airwave vacated by BBC Arabic."

Father, I have failed you for twenty years. Now our misery can end. Somewhere… somewhere close by is a man who can help us. I cannot find him alone. I need you. I need you to guide my sword. Please. Guide my sword.

Powerful words from @aoc.bsky.social. America does not belong to any one race, religion, or creed. It is big enough for all of us who believe in democracy and in our Constitution and in leaving a future that is better for our kids.

What does Kemi Badenoch think the level of immigration should be? Is everybody in the media & politics going to act surprised when the year to June 2026 statistic (on Nov 26th) falls below net 100k for first time this century Best estimate of net migration *now* (4th Q 2026) is zero, or negative

I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced.

Pete is lost in terms of modern war. I use the example of this outgunned Ukrainian army officer who successfully terrorized a Russian unit for weeks because she "did the math." At the time, someone commented, "yeah, in combat, 'I did the math' beats 'I can do 100 pushups' every time."

This stopped me in my tracks. An independent study by @qmul.bsky.social has found that after ULEZ was introduced, children’s lungs grew faster in Central London and have now caught up with children outside of the capital. Incredible.

Air pollution stunts children’s lung growth. New Queen Mary research found that improvements in air quality after the introduction of London’s ULEZ are associated with accelerated lung growth in children. Read more: shorturl.at/Jx86o

Proud to have worked one of the points from the intro of this into tonight’s Brownies session. They were building tin foil boats and seeing how much cargo they’d hold, so we got them to guess what % of what we eat and buy is transported by boat. For the answer read the post (or come to Brownies).

Farage has properly lost his touch. Old confident Farage would have known to play along with the Binface gag. New insecure Farage can't bring himself to do it. And that's why the headlines are about him staying away from the vote rather than the fact that he won it.

Nigel Farage has won Clacton by-election, which was boycotted by other major Westminster parties
The contest was triggered when the Reform UK leader resigned as an MP while under investigation for £5m gift he didn't declare Now he’s been re-elected, that parliamentary investigation will resume

Candidates traditionally thank the election staff and police after the declaration. This one just lies about them.

Adam Bienkov@adambienkov.bsky.social

Nigel Farage suggests the police advised him against attending the result of the Clacton by-election. Essex Police completely deny this, telling the BBC "we have a proportionate and robust policing operation to ensure the safety and security of all participants in the count"

It’s election week! At this important moment I would like to address your entire planet with a message to the people of Earth. And I think I found the perfect place to do it.

Had @countbinface.bsky.social and Clacton on the mind while watching this at Dartmoor Folk Festival. Said to the puppeteer afterwards that a Bin vs Farage show would be perfect. He then popped backstage & returned with a tiny bin from one of his other shows that he’d Binfaced up with a marker pen. 🤯

True story. (I asked if he’d filmed the Binface bit, he said no. I offered to film it for him, he said it’d be better with an audience - fair enough. I foolishly didn’t think to at least ask if I could take a photo of the bin. Next time!)
