So the security of quite a lot of web sites was hanging off 2 × D16s?

The details are now public, as of two hours ago. bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi... The secret P-384 keys for these intermediate CAs are all zeros except the last 8 bits. All not-updated software can be MITM'ed now. IOT boxes that can't or don't update are now trivially MITM'able forever.

I'm suspicious that the new "Indie Forever" stream & its relentless promotion this week is softening up the audience for the BBC to take another swing at 6 Music 🤨

“Terminator 2: Judgment Day” (1991) was entirely improvised. The director James Cameron liked it so much he kept the movie in the movie.

We all know the "Viggo broke his toe" story but what's another movie fact you're personally compelled to bring up every time without prompting? For me, it's the fact that Robin Tunney is wearing a wig in The Craft because of having just shaved her head to save her job filming Empire Records.

A real writer wouldn't blame his editor. Instead he should shake his head, sigh and say "once again, my less attentive readers are missing the larger point I was making" without clarifying in any way.

I think more games need to allow the player to have fun at the start. Just let them run and bounce around and figure out what the fuck is going on. I've played a few demos now where early time pressures have ruined that feel. I don't know which way is up yet - stop pushing me!

Anyway, let's enjoy the original ending of Little Shop, about how America is a stupid country full of grasping consumerist jerks.

Orly's Draw-A-Story is a beautifully-animated & voiced kids CD-ROM title from 1997, made by Greg Johnson & Mark Voorsanger who did ToeJam & Earl. I made a patch so it works on Windows again. Try it on your kids! Let me know if anything breaks, I'll try to keep it working: github.com/matthewbloch...

Genuinely: who do I have to talk to if I want to be an IGF judge? I want to so bad, I'm sure I know someone who can tell me more, or know someone who knows someone? Reposts appreciated, my DMs are open (I think).

The yoga studio has just changed the names of all its classes and I don't think anyone there would appreciate my immediate response

Been teaching myself Unreal and built this moody office scene while learning the basics of lighting, VFX, camera control, animation, cinematics, and blueprints. Wanted to make it feel convincingly cluttered and lived-in, which involved placing 600+ props by hand. Sound up for maximum atmosphere.

Took a day off to organise the house, so naturally I'm now 2hrs into resurrecting 1997 edutainment title Orly's Draw-A-Story for modern Windows 🙃

The Facial Expressions of Tethys by artist Julius von Bismarck. A suspended high-sea buoy that moves in real time. Sensors on a twin buoy out in the Atlantic Ocean send live satellite data to motors inside the museum. This makes the indoor buoy copy the exact, real-time movements of the ocean waves.

Well blow me down, the sociologist defending the racist professor (sorry I mean academic freedom) is really into AI for classifying people (sorry, survey efficiency), and thinks the supreme court has been *perfectly* clear on gender. If that means nothing to you, be thankful, go free, enjoy life.

My post-punk playlist has obliquely reminded me that I won an in-house competition for best bookseller anthem with the suggestion “(When I Think About You) I Dust My Shelf”

I actually know the answer to this and it's slightly insane. Google pulls from Wikipedia to determine if a place is a city, town, neighbourhood, whatever. Brighton's first line describes it as a "seaside resort" so Google Maps thinks it's a neighbourhood and doesn't display it in the "city" font.
