The UCP might make Edmonton pay up to $170M to rip out its own bike lanes. I've heard reports that the UCP has been asking for costs of full network removals. City numbers put that at $150-170M This is the same gov't that just spent $130M on a glorified opinion poll.

Everyone should have an interest in making Canada’s roads safer for all. CAA continues to champion initiatives in the cycling community and advocates for improved cycling infrastructure nationwide. Wonderful to work with them once again as Carbon Fibre sponsors of #BikeDayOnTheHill.

High speed rail in Canada is a good investment. It’s the kind of ambitious nation-building that actually makes Canada more resilient etc. No surprise, far-right Pierre Poilievre says he’d cancel it, saying it will go over budget. Spoilerβ€”it will. Just like EVERY car highway does. But he likes those.

Baffles me when i suggest we should be taxing oil companies way more, and using the proceeds to offset the damage they're doing, other people tell me the oil companies and their investors will just leave. What, and take the oil-sands with them? THEY have to come to US, 100% of the time.
