RANDOM POSTER WHOSE OPINION I HAVE NO REASON TO TRUST: A result like this in NV-03 would be seismic. That’s deep Blortles country. It was Vinkum +8 in ‘24 ME DURING ELECTION SEASON: totally. i just need to look at 9000 more of these

This is just pure racism. Republicans objectively are campaigning on little more than bigotry.

What I don't understand is that Trump seems to think he can do the strongman thing *without* actually offering any bread in the traditional bread and circuses package. Bread is like $7.99 now and Trump is taking your park and your White House and your grandpa www.porchpartynews.com/p/voters-bet...

well, on the one hand AI has made things significantly worse for everyone in almost every capacity that it has touched. But on the other hand, the dumbest guy you know can send emails nobody reads really fast now. So it's impossible to say whether it's good or not

Fellow WA voters, let's bury this. I can't imagine any parent wants to subject their child to this vile "examination."

Doctors and nurses are voicing their objections. I-638 would require EVERY girl who wants to participate in sports to go through biological sex verification. That means expensive, invasive, and utterly gross examinations. Protect our kids and let them play. Vote NO on I-638

like vance, ramaswamy is a hateful, resentful orc of a human being, and the reason i think this will hurt him politically — where this stuff didn’t hurt trump — is that ramaswamy, like vance, is also profoundly unlikeable. he has no charm or charisma or anything. just a dipshit.

We have to think about collapsing Trump poll numbers and Rs turning on him the same way we'd think about finally being able to corner a rabid raccoon in your garage. Good news: he's out of options. Bad news: he's a rabid raccoon.

Good thread. As @volts.wtf points out, the only way for Dems to deal with this is to just plow through it. As I suggest in the piece, Ossoff and El-Sayed seem to understand this. They don't get knocked off course by fake MAGA outrage or media's tendency to launder it. They just run right through it.

David Roberts@volts.wtf

This has been the fundamental mechanism through which political media operates my entire life. The right makes a bunch of noise about a fake scandal, the mainstream media "covers the controversy," & normie voters get the vague impression that Dems are constantly involved in scandal.

This is a simply astonishing video. Americans should watch it for decades as they try to understand this historical period.

Public executions were not abolished out of tenderness towards the criminal. They were abolished because of the effect on the people watching, and the dangers of making human death a source of commercial entertainment. Here's Charles Dickens in The Times, after witnessing an execution in 1849.

I hope the take about how this is the moment to get beyond "affordability" is correct. I mean, consumer costs matter; I'm feeling it. But we're murdering people on the open seas with no review. We're kidnapping citizens and legal immigrants. The President lies about everything. Surely that matters?
