And the freaking greatest thing I have ever seen: this intersection has a traffic signal that is set by DEFAULT for pedestrians and cyclists, cars have to activate to cross. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Here in Toronto, only two candidates for Mayor have a shot (and Gong isn't one of them). They have significantly different visions for the city. Please vote as if it matters - because it very much does.

really emotionally moving seeing Watsky do X Infinity ten years on. so much of the world changed, so much is disappointingly the same. what an album!

Remember that polls have a margin of error, and that smaller polls (such as at the individual ward level) have a larger margin of error. So even if the poll says your favourite candidate is leading, don't count on it. Go vote.

With four days until the election, Forum Research released new polling results for seven council races. Details in the screenshot with alt text. Be sure to make your plan to vote if you didn't vote in the advance polls or by mail. #TOpoli forumresearch.com/news?categor...

It's actually kind of emotional seeing this message up. Especially while we have heroes fighting in Toronto to keep streets safe.

"cycling militants [should accept] a compromise for bike lanes in secondary grids rather than arterial roads" There is no "secondary grid." Because of Toronto's piecemeal growth, it literally does not exist. The lanes reach where people want to go. And there is nowhere else to put them.

Feeling pretty helpless/overwhelmed today seeing people throwing tacks on bike lanes and seeing how big a police presence was brought in. Is this what people wanted?

Every pedestrian, cyclist, and driver death along here belongs to Doug Ford, Prabmeet Sarkaria, and their government. Even though they legislated away the right to sue in advance. #Bikesky #BikeTO #Toronto

One thing about people citing slower car travel times on Bloor West following the bike lane install is, well, that was kind of the point. Drivers were **averaging** nearly 20 km/h over the current speed limit at spots. Road revamp has brought speeds closer to limit. www.toronto.ca/wp-content/u...

Ford celebrated ripping out bike lanes 2 days ago. Meanwhile, Bike Share is recording it's 5 millionth rider today. This is more rides than were seen in all of 2022, the system has doubled its ridership in 4 years.

This is BAD NEWS for public safety & mobility in Ontario. Make no mistake what this ruling means—the lower court decision established that ripping out protected bike-lanes WILL cost lives & that was unconstitutional. This Appeal decision says Doug Ford is constitutionally allowed to ENDANGER LIVES.

Um Toronto has many quiet, welcoming streets for a bike network trust me I’m an urban planner

Matt Elliott@graphicmatt.com

Bradford also does the bike-lanes-belong-on-side-streets thing. Would be great if proponents of this kind of thinking could show us a map. Which streets? How do they lead to a cycling network that’s actually useful? Aren’t a lot of the places that cyclists want to get to on main streets?
