There's a few random smaller things that I don't pay as close attention to, often things for my own use. But for things I'm held accountable for, I'm compelled to pay attention. adversarial automated review tends to catch most defects, but there's so much more to building for the long term

heart is full after OSACC <3 I feel more determination, drive, and connection to my people. sad to be going home in a few hours, but I'm so grateful to have seen so many friends new and old.

some vulkan renderer updates. resizing and minimizing recreates the swapchain. ktx texture loading. openpbr processing. initial point light implementation. ecs driving the pointlight translation change. Is crossplatform with moltenvk. Hoping descriptor heap lands in kosmic krisp soon.

Landed in Detroit. I’m hungry and estradiol injection from last night is coursing.

“People don’t understand what kind of data they’re handing over,” EFF’s @evacide.bsky.social told @theverge.com, because Muse’s user interface is designed to encourage you to overshare. "It’s using dark patterns, and as a result you end up with Muse doing things that people don’t want.”

theverge.comFriends don’t let friends feed their data to AI agentsYou may have consented to sharing with Muse, but all your friends sure didn’t.

cannot wait for media magic in Detroit. Also I cannot wait to dip myself into a healing molten amethyst goo. And then I will transcend my body and enter a spirit realm where I exist as “perfect gender” and we all engage in discourse and we never have to figure out “where the money will come from”

And also low level systems programming will be there and so will linear algebra and real and complex analysis will show up. And the programming language nerds will be there with homotopy type theory and categories and idris

#virtualCCFest is an amazing creative coding festival designed for anyone who wants to make computers playful again👇🏾

Saber Khan@saberkhan.bsky.social

the best part about being on a MacBook Pro for work is that my personal laptop is linux. so everything in the world makes sense now

The bi-weekly world of processing is starting at noon eastern. come by, we'll chat about things going on, and hang and share. it will be very casual

Hey creative technologists. I'm doing some early research, but I want to know if there are artists who use (or used) Processing (the Java version with a PDE) who aren't white men. Pointers would be really helpful

I'm kind of...ready to let go of "linux" as some sort of artist statement. I want to make way more room for creative expression in the sound arts. I've abandoned myself for too long. My identity is not the computer.

every injection day i say "i'm SO cool for doing this every week. congratulations moon, you did it again. and it's really cool of you."

something poetic about tool trained on OSS without consent being used to make what was made proprietary into OSS.

have been talking with @softmoon.world about this specific use case, the master's tools will never dismantle the master's house but they might disassemble it lol

Today I added bevy_seedling to main for libprocessing. still have to make an API and use it. but in order to get here: - I had to rebase our fork bevy fork on to v0.19 of bevy - i had to put up a couple minor PRs in nannou's bevy_rewrite (ty to @charlotte.fyi for reviews) - and some third thing

Entitlements issue for MacOS should be fixed here. We added some additional signing steps recently and did not pass in the entitlements file. I'm really happy about the new build process lol -- can someone try out apple silicon build? github.com/processing/p...
