The open bigotry is a clear sign the administration is rotten from top to bottom. But this also downplays the political pressure to exclude people from the Arab majority countries when its time to select for those prizes. Its the kind of gutter behavior that these cretins have dragged us down to.

The Bulwark@thebulwark.com

RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."

And that doesn't even account for how many times Arabs have succeeded in spite of international pressure being against them. For instance a Palestinian by the name of Omar M. Yaghi won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2025, one year ago. But who needs reality when your trying to stir up hate?

The World’s Largest Earthquake Drill will happen on October 15 at 10:15 am! More than 10.5 million Californian’s have already registered to participate and practice the recommended earthquake safety action – DROP, COVER, AND HOLD ON.

The homophobia is repugnant, but predictable at this point. The shocking thing is that they expect us to believe anyone has ever told JD Vance they loved him.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

JD Vance: "I love you too sir. In a totally platonic way, to be clear. I'm the vice president, not James Talarico."

Because I don't have enough on my plate lately, I have added being a poll worker. Having completed the training, I am both concerned and impressed at how much of the training and regulations can be reduced down to "I'll have to ask my supervisor".

On the one hand I'm concerned that so much of the election system is in the hands of a few senior citizens. On the other hand, I am grateful that so little of the system is actually accessible to untrained people off the street.

Just saw someone say their AI runs their fantasy football team and I can’t stop laughing. Like, I’m sure everyone’s doing it or something but it’s very funny to me that pretending to be a team manager was so hard that you needed to pretend to pretend to be a team manager

Got a guy at the grocery store with a sports team t-shirt for the "Warlocks". It would seem innocent enough, except the logo is an iron cross and has a Double S (the kind for German special forces) in the center. It's a dog whistle so blatant that only corporate sponsors could miss it.

There was a time that people argued with the Pope about the nature of salvation, or at least about the proper behavior of bishops in relation to the monarchy. Now it's about if a chatbot can really love a grown man who moderates 3 different anime body pillow subreddits.

Unsurprising that the guys who think probabilistically generated text is proof of super intelligence also think that the path to popularity is a brightly colored mascot.

This stumbling, bumbling fool has a last minute defense of his administration of "I'm not a complete invalid".

God, grant me the courage to change the things I can and incredible new powers to change the things I can't.

Mechwarriors were landed gentry who had a monoploy on the most powerful military equipment in the Succession wars. And the Clans are even worse with a literal caste system that puts them at the top. Not sure Welsh people qualify though. #battletech #Mechwarrior

mechwarriors are nonentities. "mechwarrior" is an oppressive class, like pomosexual people or Welsh people.

I'm the only person I know that would rather spend a Sunday afternoon arguing about politics than watching football. Not because I love cyclical arguments with people who aren't interested in honest discussion, but because football bores me that much.

Mineralcup making me finally learn how to pronounce the minerals I has to learn as a freshman. Cassiterite is one that always slipped through the cracks during lecture, and somehow never came up.

Mineral Cup & Ore Cup@mineralcup.bsky.social

#MinCup26 Round 1 Match 16 It's a pair of industrially-vital minerals for the final match of the first round as tin ore #Cassiterite is up against elemental carbon #Graphite. VOTE: www.mineralcup.org/2026/vote-re... RESULTS: www.mineralcup.org/2026/vote-re...

That enough prospective agents were worried about the charge, combined with the rate that Jan 6 rioters and Proud Boys are being recruited by DHS, really puts this in a horrifying light.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

PATEL: The previous regulation automatically disqualified any individual who participated in either side of it KENNEDY: Either side of beastiality? So you disqualified the animal? P: Well, we have great canines, but we're not going to disqualify them K: I'm trying to understand why you did this.

I was looking up a mineral this afternoon, and the invasive AI didn't want to recognize it. It told me that I was misspelling a different mineral (I was not) or that I meant a city in Greece (again I did not). AI is so inaccurate that its easier to gas-light users than make it work.

I was having a good night, then I found out about cylindrite and I have too go down a rabbit hole about crystal structures and nm scale forces at 11 pm. The perils of being a science person! #mineral #geology

you HAVE to get on board with beanie babies. beanie babies are going to leave you behind. you must devote your time to studying all the new beanie babies and how it impacts yuor life. also theyre alive and im in love with iggy the iguana

I just realized yet another problem with generative AI keeping it non-viable. It relies on training data pulled from social media, especially reddit. But social media accounts get hacked regularly and converted into bots. Its got a built in vulnerability before the software level.
