Sorry, but I'm fully invested in my recently-acquired unquestioning loyalty to Cracker Barrel. My vote is not for sale to these Cheesecake Factory heathens. Second place goes to whatever that restaurant with the beef tallow fries was, on account of the health benefits.

C'mon man, this is the fanciest restaurant in Greensboro

I have it on good authority that this man is 7’2” and Donald Trump has actually grown to nearly nine feet tall, in a show of his virility and natural leadership abilities.

😳 WOMAN REPORTER: Do sexual abuse allegations mean nothing to you, sir? TRUMP: Wait. Wait! Wait wait wait. Slow down. Who are you with? REPORTER: NBC, sir. But they are very serious sex abuse allegations TRUMP: Quiet! Isn't she a fresh person? You're a horrible little reporter, aren't you?

This reminds me how, years before "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" came out, "I am Legend," had a billboard in Times Square for a Batman/Superman movie. Then I wonder, what if it was all real…

Everybody's smiling because my layout for the big article about chair design was a massive success. This will save the magazine and get me a huge promotion. All thanks to iPhone Duo™!

Fox News, for what it’s worth, realizes that they need to spin things that actually exist on some basic level, but then cast it in a negative light. She seems to believe that digging into entirely made-up bullshit that lacks even a grain of truth will manifest something into existence.

Metaphor Watch: My wife and I almost ran into a bald eagle sitting directly in the road on the way to work this morning. The bald eagle picked up a rat and flew away—in the middle of Baltimore.

I had absolutely no idea at all it was happening until I saw a group of very old people out there. I saw this lady in a different spot, with her excellent cardboard Trump on a golden toilet.

He's going to try something, even if it's on a small scale that makes no difference, because it's actually already happening with the National Guard troops standing around ballot drop boxes in DC — somebody's ordering them to do that!

The Trump administration denies planning to deploy ICE agents at the polls. But that hasn’t stopped opposition groups from gaming out scenarios and making contingency plans. @adriancarrasquillo.bsky.social reports on that in the latest edition of Huddled Masses:

There's a benefit to a universal system that rarely gets mentioned, but I think could appeal to many skeptics: Imagine not being tied to a job just for healthcare. Start a business, go freelance, go back to school, etc. The risk is just too high for most people today. That's actual freedom!

Also, 2012 was a wild time for job hunting. I was doing phone interviews within hours of getting laid off. I had four good job offers within three weeks. That's just not happening today.

I turned down a job offer at NPR in 2012, which would have been a dream job for me, because the healthcare costs would have meant an overall salary cut for me, and I just couldn't afford it. That's bothered me ever since.

I got this email on Sept. 8, which takes me directly to the "Manage Payment Cards" screen. My card was listed as the default, and there was nothing I could even edit. Bugs happen, even serious, annoying ones, but I got no other emails at all. Do they actually even want my money?

This year, federal agents terrorized our streets, killed our neighbors, and detained our children. Minnesotans were changed forever. Michele Tafoya thinks ICE treats kids “really well.” I think ICE should be ripped apart and replaced by a system grounded in dignity and due process.

I look at Facebook about once a month, and lately it's been showing me the weirdest shit possible. This "fascinating landscape" is fucking mine waste.

This area used to be huge mountains of the stuff that was fun for exploring and riding bikes, and then they basically flattened all of it to build an access road for a gas pipeline a few years ago. Still just a massive stretch of destroyed forest… but flatter now.

My taxes will go up, but my employer will stop taking $400+ out of every paycheck, and I'd have healthcare even if I don't have a job. Seems fair! Doing it is a no-brainer, but I accept that Democrats who want to enact MFA have an uphill battle in explaining it to the thinking-averse electorate.
