I took a darkroom class in July and just had some of the negatives scanned. Pretty happy with the results.

@stephengallagher.co.uk I just watched your season three Rosemary and Thyme and loved the Don Quixote gag. It made me laugh/snort

@stephengallagher.co.uk Am watching Rosemary and Thyme for the first time ever and was really tickled to see Oktober featured in your Season Two opener. I would totally buy a copy with the cover featured.

The Doctor has always been autism-coded to me, decades before I was diagnosed. Especially Tom, who was “my Doctor”. The way he delights in seemingly insoluble problems, mind racing in a world of his own before snapping back to reality with a “WHAT?” and only making eye contact when it counts…

Join us at 19:30 for the #RosalindFranklinLecture. In a fascinating talk on the science of 'fate', Dr Hannah Critchlow invites us to rethink the free will – and asks whether it may, at least in part, be an illusion created by the brain’s need for a coherent story. humanists.uk/events/frank...

If you teach please show your students this. If you're a student, please read this. The answers LLMs generate are not all alike. They are more likely to hallucinate on topics we don't already know a lot about. Even answers with "sources" shouldn't be trusted. leahbroad.substack.com/p/chatgpts-a...

Other services not mentioned in this article include Icedrive in Gibraltar and Jottacloud in Norway. Part of my thinking was not just about security but not wanting to give these techbros a penny more. Precompliance is the coward’s route to fascism and they all failed the test.

Apparently I’m on trend for like the first time. I moved my email to a German company a decade and a half ago. I’ve spent the last couple of weeks figuring out alternatives, closing accounts and starting to switch things over.

Amid growing concerns over Big Tech firms aligning with Trump administration policies, people are starting to move their digital lives to services based overseas. Here's what you need to know.

I’m paraphrasing what was said but in general terms if it looks like a Nazi, talks like a Nazi and sieg heils like a Nazi then it’s a fucking Nazi. And that doesn’t reduce the power of the comparison no matter how many times you call it out.

I just read something which basically said if you keep comparing people who act like Nazis to Nazis it’ll lessen the impact of the comparison. This coming from Democrats.

In some ways, ok, maybe all the ways, only @effinbirds.com was prepared for this era.

Elon Musk claims DOGE has saved $55 billion, but the numbers don’t add up. DOGE released a list of canceled contracts totaling $16 billion in supposed savings. However, nearly half of that came from an $8 billion ICE contract—except that contract was actually worth just $8 million.

MAGA Farmer wants us to “come together” now that he’s facing the consequences of his vote. “I didn’t read project 2025 because it was my understanding that wasn’t what he was running on” 🙃🐆 youtube.com/shorts/9LtSM...

Andrew Jackson: I may be in Hell now, but I burn with the confidence that no other American president will ever top the Trail of Tears Donald Trump: Hold my Diet Coke

Worth watching from @ezrakleinbot.bsky.social "Trump is acting like a king because he's too weak to govern like a president. He's trying to substitute perception for reality. He is hoping that perception then becomes reality. That can only happen if we believe him" www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8QL...

Reminder: They're trying to demoralize you, and they're doing a great job of it. Part of resisting is making time for joy despite the attempts to make you feel this is not the time for it. Love your people. Dig the art that speaks to you. Go to the places where life flows into you. You deserve joy.

Talking in the pub about square dancing (as you do), I experienced an unexpected room-wide silence when mine was suddenly the only voice to be heard. So to the woman in red at the bar who gave me a filthy look: When I said, “After the clap, change partners,” it wasn’t necessarily what you thought.

Today in 2000 we bid farewell to the canteen of HDW Components as dinnerladies showed its final new episode on BBC One. Just 16 episodes over 2 series were made. A Good Fun and Pozzitive Television production for BBC. tvark.org/dinnerladies

I just realized how tense I have felt since I woke up. So this is your reminder to relax your shoulders, unclench your jaw, and take some deep breaths. Take care of yourself. Put your own mask on before assisting another passenger.
