Are you on Bluesky for: The protocol? The people? The timeline? The content? The trend?

For the hope. The potential for a better platform. One which empowers users to have meaningful discussions and explore a variety of interests rather than clickbait and echo chambers.

Lack of bots and trolls, more control over timeline/feeds/moderation, and the people who I follow have finally switched

We’re here hoping to see people like you continue the good work and leave the cesspool that has become X. (or at minimum just hope that you dual post so we can keep engaging with you and not feel like we’re missing out)

Mostly interest in @atproto.com - from a developer perspective, I really like how the protocol is coming together - looks much more extensible and long lasting than the alternatives It took more time to design, but this system is more “digital identity” than “distributed social media”

X has been pushing elon and trump tweet notifications to me even tho I blocked one and never followed the other, one of a long list of reasons that it has become a toxic experience on X. This alternative is nice.

For many of us, it recaptures best days of Twitter, its heyday (2008 - 2017ish?) That's all we wanted.. Twitter clone, w/out Elon. What they feel like: 🦋 Bluesky - macOS Sequoia, jazz club with a different riff in every room 🧵Threads - Windows Vista, muzak in big mall 🐘Mastodon - Linux Desktop

The It's not the toxic platform by Mr. Musk. The people here seem friendly. Every time I'm on X I feel angry and u literally can see that platform is based on rage baits nothing more. Free speech turned into racist speech.

The thing missing,so far, is breaking news updates. Ancient Twitter had that but X lost the edge. Hoping Bluesky becomes that resource for real time current world news not just repetitive trump drama.

Timeline and content. Custom feeds is like lists but better. The algorithms are much simple but so far I've found them quite well calibrated and interesting using several to stay up to date as well. Bc of them I've found engaging content which is not as clickbait oriented.

Indeed! I got Twitter back in 2011, people didn’t know how to use it and posted the most random stuff like: ‘Well, I’m going to get my groceries!’ But at least there was respect and no bots

the people are here because the protocol implements moderation correctly and so the content is not a fascist hellscape/bots/spam. so, lo-and-behold, the timeline is so "2014 twitter" in a good way. so 1-4 i'd say.
