Beef Supreme is coming out of retirement

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Hegseth on Nidal Hasan: "He's gonna get a firing squad of soldiers. As it should be. We'll make sure that people are able to watch it. That it's public. Because people need to understand that there's serious consequences for these types of things."

What if we give Luigi twelve weeks of training, a radio, and $150k in taxpayer funded overtime? Then can we encourage him to shoot whomever he wants?

Dmitry Grozoubinski@explaintrade.com

Cool, so as long as we can trust all of our fellow citizens to be right on the merits each and every time, we should encourage vigilante executions.

The clown shit comparison of the DSA to Stalin aside, you were a republican my whole life and if it comes to a choice between the techno-fascist ethnostate party or doubling taxes on your vacation home, we both know what box you're going to check

Tom Nichols@radiofreetom.bsky.social

Jeez, I get one Totenkopf tattoo, and I gotta hear this crap wait that wasn't me

Stfu man. We know you were always gonna choose the Nazis

Tom Nichols@radiofreetom.bsky.social

If the message from some of you here is "it's okay to be Stalinists because our opponents are Nazis," be ready for the possibility that - given that choice - people will choose Nazis.

Fake ass conservatism. You know how your daddy would've dealt with depression? Do that

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Rep. Tom Kean finally speaks after months away from Congress for a previously unexplained absence: "I was given the diagnosis of depression ... the doctors recommended I remain in the hospital to address my illness"

Sounds like you're just feeding B-52s to the advanced radar system...

Stars and Stripes@starsandstripes.bsky.social

The Air Force said that it plans to move ahead with the B-52 Stratofortress modernization program despite the fatal crash of the first modified version of the bomber, which killed eight people. A second B-52H bomber will be modified with an advanced radar system and sent to Edwards AFB for testing.

I didn't know trees could catch fire from the inside

San Francisco Chronicle@sfchronicle.com

San Francisco firefighters and a Recreation and Park arborist spent much of Tuesday extinguishing a fire that burned inside a tree along Fulton Street in Golden Gate Park.

If you want to bet on sports, you should have to interact with a man named Butch Hunkee in the back of a steakhouse to do it

Erin Fogg says Free Link@criminalerin.bsky.social

Ohhhhh my gawwwwd lmao "According to an 87-page indictment unsealed Wednesday, James “Jimmy the Greek” Gerodemos and Dean “Dean Gem” Gialamas were the bosses of the Gerodemos Gambling Organization, headquartered at Gino’s Steakhouse in Merriville, IN"

The entire US government is not only a force to protect the wealth of the wealthy, it's a force to turn all the rest of us into revenue generators for the wealthy up until such point as we stop being useful and die

Paul Waldman@paulwaldman.bsky.social

Today is a reminder that except for a brief period running roughly from Brown v. Board to Roe v. Wade, throughout its history the Supreme Court has been a reactionary force protecting the wealth of the wealthy and the power of the powerful, almost always hostile to equality and justice.

Whether you get that life saving surgery is basically up to a guy who chooses between one of two stamps on his desk. One that says "you get money" and one that says "I get money."

Phil Verhoef@philipverhoef.bsky.social

totally. and i would take it a step further and argue that a health care system grounded in capitalist principles can never be equitable… which is why we continue to have people that suffer and die needlessly at the hands of our private insurance based system.

I watched Marty Supreme over the weekend and, while I enjoyed it, I kept watching with an eye toward a weird twist that I had heard about. I picked up a couple of foreshadowing clues that would track with the twist I was expecting. And then there was no twist. The thing I heard about never happened

Since all these assholes love sci-fi stories so much, let's try The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas but instead of an innocent child, it's everyone in this picture locked in a dark cell and brutalized for the benefit of humanity. Literally beat the money out of them to feed and house everyone

Joni Askola@joniaskola.bsky.social

Oligarchs have always been a threat, but tech oligarchs represent a new level of danger. Their wealth dwarfs historical tycoons and their control over algorithms allows them to curate human reality. They own the digital infrastructure of thought

There should be a penalty for dying in office over the age of say, 70. Like none of your assets can pass to your family but will instead be absorbed by the state or given to The Trevor Project or something

Ken Klippenstein@kenklippenstein.bsky.social

80 year old congressman David Scott has died after serving in the House for 23 years. He is the fourth Democratic congressperson age 70+ to die in office since 2025.
