Casting a net of questionable size here, if you’re an ex-BioWare dev (or know of one who may not see this) working on something cool you’d like featured in a roundup at Kotaku, drop it below. Store page links helpful, and let me know what your role was at BW. Projects big and small welcome! RTs plz!

If anyone in Canada has been affected by the EA/Bioware announcement and would like to talk about it, email's in my profile. Can discuss on the record/on background etc.

End of an era. Few other studios have been able to create adventures like BioWare. From Baldur's Gate to Dragon Age to Mass Effect, games created by teams at this studio have set the highest bar for storytelling and RPG adventures.

EA is shutting down BioWare. The next Mass Effect has been canceled: https://www.rpgsite.net/news/21611-bioware-shutting-down-ea-job-cuts-mass-effect-canceled

Over the years, BioWare was home to many of my favourite game writers, designers, developers, and artists who have gone on to other projects around the world—I can't imagine what the industry would be like without this studio paving the way.

One of my favorite sci-fi shows of the decade—of the century!—is celebrating its third anniversary today. Scavengers Reign was a shooting star🌠, poorly supported by HBO Max and then Netflix (as it was only available in a handful of countries), but I'm so glad this one season exists.

Just when I think I can’t hate OpenAI and Sam Altman any more, new details come out about how ChatGPT helped a shooter plan one of the worst mass shootings in Canadian history in Tumbler Ridge, BC. OpenAI made an explicit decision not to report the user to authorities.

Pushing Daisies. A mystery of the week premise set in an absolutely over the top world with a delightful cast.

Everyone has a 1-2 season TV show they sorely miss and not enough people knew about that you are always praising the heavens about. What's yours?

Roman Sands RE:Build is out. After so many years, you can finally play our labour of love. It's deranged, it goes SO MANY PLACES, it probably shouldn't exist, and I've no idea if you're going to like it or not but that ain't the point. Roman Sands RE:Build. store.steampowered.com/app/2231460/...

Privatizing airports is a terrible deal for travellers, workers, and the public purse. Around the world, it has led to higher travel costs, fewer jobs and worse working conditions.

A hundred times this. Consistently disappointed by how many publishers in indie world can’t actually sell a game. Or rather, provide little value in selling a game that isn’t in the thing itself. (Lots of awesome individuals of course, often with hands tied by process and nonsense)
