Code is art but it is art in the same way that the written word is art, or GUI design is art, which is that to most people it is part of the wallpaper of the universe, not conscious of the fact that someone still has to design their wallpapers
my ultimate thing about "is code art" is that code is art but especially on larger and more corporatized projects code is designed to be so standardized and interchangeable in a way that's largely incompatible with the way we talk about art in the same way that a soap opera is

not only programming languages deserve thought out infrastructure which considers safety as an important component of the system :)
1. Netherlands has great bicycle infrastructure and it's all over the country, not just Amsterdam, and should be copied by government elsewhere. 2. On a per capita basis there're probably more Dutch Rust developers than any other country. Don't know why.

Exactly one year ago I stepped down from my main responsibilities in the Rust project, because of burnout. Today, a year later, I employ about a dozen full-time Rust maintainers through Hexcat+RustNL. I'm not doing much technical work anymore, but this people stuff is also pretty fun and motivating.
I'm excited to find something new that gives me energy and motivation. Most likely, that new thing will have something to do with Rust, but I don't know yet what exactly that will be. Maybe teaching Rust, or writing another book, or solving #burnout in open source.. we'll see. :) 3/4
