what makes claudish different from human text? we're getting real psycholinguistic research! idea is that models are optimizing for information density rather than human understanding. consequences flow from that. i think i buy it. arxiv.org/abs/2610.29162

arxiv.orgWhy is AI-generated language so hard to understand? There is a widespread sense that AI-generated text has recently become harder to understand. In this study, we investigate a set of psycholinguistic features that are known to correlate with human pro...

If you've noticed a distinct dialect emerging in frontier AI models and struggled to understand what they're talking about, you're not crazy! We turned to psycholinguistics to investigate what makes the writing style so weird, and why this might be happening 🚨New preprint! 🧵

Deleted a post because I don't want to dunk on a particular person, but I think in general, if you find a vuln, report it to an OSS project and give them a chance to fix it/respond to it. We want to fix these things, and it's better for users!

Just saw You Can See Everything and oh my God, I’m not saying anything until people have a chance to see it this weekend but wow I want to talk about it

This little bun has been living in our front lawn/the neighbor’s front lawn since late spring, and I love seeing him. He ate @thedrawplay.com’s peppers (Dave has not forgiven him), but has been leaving the pumpkins alone

very excited to see this out of A\ this is our thesis at @ersc.io! But we are building a git compatibility layer: ersc.io/blog/what-co... enterprise adoption of new source control is a big ask, so making a smooth bridge from the past to the future is a big part of our offer

New on our Engineering blog: Creating in-house source control. In May, we merged around 2,500 code changes per day. In September, we merged more than 30,000 per day. As a result, we became bottlenecked by developer infrastructure built for human (rather than agent) scale.

so people can say this, but i would also highlight that anthropic models _are_ the most well aligned when it comes to bigotry and abuse. anthropic clearly does not like violence against women or minorities either this is not the reason to come up with to be mad at anthropic imo

Anthropic banning “abusive or cruel behavior” toward Claude in its new usage policies is proof to me that tech companies are going to moderate violence against AI before they ever moderate violence against women and minorities

My review of Claude Opus 5.5: It passes the five hour limit test. I can use it for five hours without running out of usage. That’s it. That’s the review.

FIRST RELEASE OF THE DAY: CLAUDE OPUS 5.5!!! Supposed improvements on communication, it costs 20% less than Opus 5 at $4 per input, $20 for out, and $0.20 for cache read. It also uses fewer tokens and costs 40% less than Opus 5 on 'typical workloads'. It seems to beat F5.1 on most benchmarks

I had access to the new Claude Projects & was able to do some very complex work Here, I asked it to go through all the images, videos and records about Umberto Eco's famous 33,000 book library & try to reconstruct it, including book locations, in 3D. Not perfect, but wow eco-library-map.netlify.app

Very sad to hear about Dolly Parton passing, but her memory will be powerful for a long time. I think we all have a moment where we thought, wow, yeah, I want to behave more like her

The most interesting Fable tip I've heard so far is to let the model use its own judgement as much as possible I told it "For all coding tasks use your judgement to decide an appropriate lower power model and run that in a subagent" and it seems to be saving tokens simonwillison.net/2026/Jul/3/j...
