Kushner took a $50 mn bribe from the Emiratis to orchestrate the firing of Rex Tillerson as secretary of state, according to Matt Cole's new book, Princes and Thieves, out today. To be clear, this is a serious felony, if true.

The first genuinely honest ad for generative AI I've ever seen, from Microsoft / CoPilot A mediocre white guy sees his non-white colleague getting praised for good work, he asks AI to *literally copy it*, and then he gets all the praise instead: www.ispot.tv/ad/SoDi/micr...

Maybe I’m missing some nuisance here, but when I look at this banner ad that popped up on my screen a moment ago, my first thought was: “Fuck all the way off with this shit, Adobe! Humans have inherent value.”

Operation Southern Spear has resulted in the extrajudicial killings of 238 humans. By Trump’s admission, it’s causing fisherman to fear for their lives. So… not everyone who goes out in a boat is a drug trafficker?

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

"They don't want to go fishing anymore. I don't blame them actually" -- Trump "jokes" that people don't want to go fishing because they might get murdered by the US military

Jim “Mad Money” Cramer looks at the last US economic data and contemplates the appeal of Marxism. Just wow.

Matt Novak@paleofuture.bsky.social

Carl Quintanilla: Real average hourly earnings down 0.7% on the month, that's the sixth straight month... Jim Cramer: Look, rich people are making a lot of money. God, I sound like Marx. I really don't want to sound like Marx. It's just, look at the data.

If there were genres of political news stories, the one where women candidates are trashed and undermined for being too aggressive, bitchy, or chaotic is probably the worst.

Capitalism corrupts. Absolute capitalism corrupts absolutely. We are living in the time of maximalist capitalism and the extraction and consolidation of wealth, at every opportunity, by the richest people and corporations in the world.

This is the most cold-blooded takedown of the Trump administration I’ve heard in a while… and the call is coming from inside the house!

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Dr Oz: "This is corruption on the underlying system ... when everyone is doing it, that's a real pathology. Bc if you're not part of the corrupt system, you're a fool. When I'm lying to you & you know I'm lying & I know that you know that I'm lying, & on & on & on, that's how countries collapse."

I've been saying for a while now that the most calorie-free news stories often have headlines starting with the words "Trump says ..."

Kai Ryssdal@kairyssdal.bsky.social

If you start your article or newscast with an unqualified “President Trump says…” what are you even doing?

Before I was thinking, “sure, he was just old.” But knowing there’s a potential FBI investigation, now I’m thinking this has hints of David Carradine.

Ron Filipkowski@ronfilipkowski.bsky.social

Not sure why the FBI would be involved with a heart attack.

The best case against Trump continues to be listening to what he says, in its entirety—no sane washing.

Clinton Era nostalgia packaged as strategy without any regard for the colossal damage that presidency did to the party by embracing Reagan—both in terms of its credibility and ambition. It was Clinton who deregulated the banks and gave us media consolidation. It was Clinton who gutted welfare.

The two-party system undermines the wellbeing of Americans.

Rep. Randy Fine on the housing bill: "My issue was if Elizabeth Warren thinks a bill is great, it probably isn't. The enthusiasm Democrats had for this bill got me spooked. I didn't come to Washington to work with Democrats. I came to Washington to beat them."

A love letter of sorts to the dream that was the reflecting pool. It was supposed to cost $1.5 million or $15 million. Biden or maybe Obama probably both of them spent $100 million to try to fix it. It was going to be American Flag Blue a dark blue color and be wonderful.

It’s also very funny that they pivoted from “this guy is low-T and gay” to “this guy has too many hot girlfriends”

Let’s not forget this headline as Iran now claims making counter strikes that will surely be used as justification by the US to lay waste to Irans cities and infrastructure.

Mark Jacob@markjacob.bsky.social

Fox News thinks this makes sense.

Can someone please explain why it’s okay for everyone to see the structural layout of a ‘top secret’ bunker under construction, but they’ll be damned of they’re going to allow a congressional delegation to tour an immigration prison camp?

The money laundering and bribery operation known as Trump Media & Technology Group Corp. closed at an all-time low today, down 83% from two years ago. The company lost its investors, if that’s what you want to call them, $406M just last quarter alone.

Breaking News: To bring down gas prices Republicans pass bill to reduce the size of a gallon. The new "Patriot Gallon" will be about half the size a current gallon. (For how long will this be parody?)

Joe: I am a 73 year-old retired mechanic in Forsberg, Nebraska. My 3 biggest problems are Iran's uranium enrichment capability, the casting of Helen in Christopher Nolan's "Odyssey," and the ability of Tennesseeans to check out "Roots" from a library 1000 media outlets: can we please talk at length

The kids are alright.

FWIW, because this seems hard to find, this was at the University of Central Florida, and the speaker is Gloria Caulfield, "VP of strategic alliances" at Tavistock Development Company, which the more I google the more it sounds like a villain in a Mission Impossible film. www.ucf.edu/news/ucfs-sp...

He’s got my vote!

Trump: "No president has ever taken a cognitive test except me. I've taken three of them. One in the first administration. They're hard. The first question is easy. You have a lion, a bear, an alligator, and a squirrel. 'Which is the squirrel?'"
