I made base-1353 encoding, so I can fit 256-bit values, like “96cca2a0c8a3263c74ef36274abf55f410d992034d16e8285811a9ad3fc59c13”, into short 26 character strings, like “ᓒᔳᣏዧᐎᑙᖜዌᙔᐸƫȶƃᒨዊጶᙵኻѫyፐᎉᑫᖫᘪᒩ”. (Also, I think these sigils are beautiful.) johnservil.github.io/sigil/play.h...

I really hope the atproto/bluesky dev community doesnt irreparably damage its reputation to the artist community. This is exactly the kind of thing that furthers that conclusion. Without artists, this place will feel like just another instance of developers playing with their toy platform, empty...

It's so sad to me to see so many of the people I regularly interact with on this platform dogging on people getting mad that the internet archive used claude.

Pwn Day 2026 now has a live scoreboard: 29 CVEs / 7 projects / 4 major non-CVE incidents in the seed tally, plus a watcher polling cvelistV5/main every 3 minutes for new records rated 9+. It caught two more before I finished the page. https://pwn-day.wisp.place/

After years of this question running in my mind I finally took the leap to build my dream forge (using @nuxt.com!). I call it Grove. It's P2P and totally abusing every latest modern Web API. I started writing about it here maninak.com/blog/git-is-... I'm grinding to open source it any day now.. 🥵

I have my dream ebook sync setup going. 1. Login with OAuth 2. Drop your ebook in a folder 3. It compresses it for the CrossPoint device 4. Uploads to @bookhive.buzz's OPDS server 5. I can pull the book and read it on my CrossPoint device Bonus is it syncs my reading progress too.

BookHive now syncs with your e-reader. Upload your ebooks, browse them from KOReader, Crosspoint, or Readest, via OPDS, and your reading progress syncs back into BookHive.

I just saw the flying tesla car and all I could think about was "they did bottom surgery on a car"

It's been a while since I posted any photography. Here's a picture I took that I like of a boat: - camera: Canon AE-1 Programme - film roll: Ilford HP-5

Go to your camera roll and search "boat" and then post a pic of a boat you like

In this day and age, learning how to spot common fallacies in arguments should be the bare minimum. Learning how to take down arguments made with fallacies is a must.

Putting me on a bluesky list titled with an insult is the same as insulting me in a post but in a much more cowardly way Who lives their lives like this?

I really need to revisit haskell and take advantage of cabal or stack instead of making a 5K line Main.hs file because I'm not using any packages and running it with ghci and :e

I'm really just a terminal object here, please understand

the W in W social stands for doxxing minors

Elena Rossini ⁂@elenarossini.com

#WSocial’s advice here is TERRIBLE - deleting your account won’t change a thing. Just now I found the record of a minor (15yo) who was verified by #WIdentity. His account status is now “taken down” but his full name, nationality and approx. date of birth are still visible on W's verification list!

Okay frick it, I'm announcing the project I've been working on. It's called Reams, a markdown editor that syncs over atproto spaces. It works offline, doesn't require a login, and has a bunch of features packed in. Try it at reams.ink, install the PWA for the best experience!

@bsky.app should instead do the chaotic neutral thing and just let you write HTML directly into posts: <h1>Like this</h1>

👻 rossipedia 🎃@rossipedia.com

Hey yo @bsky.app you should render embedded code blocks in our posts: ```html <p>Like this</p> ```

the zen nature of dealing with strings in C by making everything a string view: idgaf about where this memory came from but it is not my business and it cannot hurt me

instead of stalling by waiting for my programs to compile, I update nixpkgs in my dev environment and wait for the 5GiB update to hit my nix store

Experimental post: The Duality of Whacka In the Switch version of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Whacka can finally be fought, and has a suspiciously specific 108 HP. The game both offers a ridiculously simplistic explanation for this as well as a complex one steeped in Dharmic symbolism.

oh damn i do appear to be making a code-centric daw. still enjoying making it, slow/incremental as that process is. i do find that the more i visualize stuff, the more i like it. really makes me wonder why we didn't historically integate live data viz into more *code* editors.

when oomf posts something so bad you skip logging off and go straight to pulling the plug from the wall socket and going to sleep
