do you know how much I want rioting French people to storm an NFL game oh my god

Adam Schefter ... Mirror@adamscheftermirror.bsky.social

The NFL said security will be heightened for the game in Paris between the Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints on Sunday after civil unrest engulfed the French capital last weekend. Original post

Okay, was just hit on at a bar relentlessly by some dude who, even after I told him I was cis/het despite my nailpaint, wouldn’t stop. As much as I sympathized with woman as best I could in the past, I feel like I fucking get it now. I feel crappy and just sad. I’m sorry yall I didn’t get it earlier

Tech Company: At long last, we have created the Vast and Trunkless Leg of Stone, Standing in the Desert from classic poem Ozymandias.

Yeah. “Evil.” That’s the only word for this.

When I was 8, for the crime of taking a popsicle without asking, my abusive parent ripped off my favorite stuffed animal’s arm in front of me and then hid it for a year. Of all the shit I went through, that was the thing that devastated me the most. This is so evil.

What the absolute fuck?

I’m a little puzzled about the logistics here. Lots of people don’t choose a major until the end of their first year, or go in thinking they’ll pursue one major but change their minds. But obviously you need to get loans sorted before that.

My room temp and correct take on tipping is that if you make a comfortable living you tip servers always and you tip them well because who the fuck do you think you are

And for what it’s worth, the woman from that NYT piece that made the only damning accusations about Platner was part of the group “Ladies for Kavanaugh,” who have openly hosted about creating the talking points that Collins herself said “allowed” her to vote him into the court

Susan Rinkunas@susanrinkunas.com

I don't envy the position Maine voters are in, but no one should kid themselves about Collins' record. She personally got Brett Kavanaugh over the finish line and now Roe and the Voting Rights Act are toast

@davidjroth.bsky.social Hah, just listening to The Distraction now and my partner and I do the same exact thing with Spelling Bee. She has the app, I don’t, we look at it on her phone and for whatever reason I am preternaturally good at getting the one with all the letters. And then I’m out.

The Hormuz situation seems so so bad, like gonna-destabilize-half-the-globe-and-tank-the-economy bad, with no obvious resolution even plausible, and it’s still getting the “distant crisis mostly of interest to nerds that will work itself out” treatment in American press

DC Statehood yesterday

Martin Austermuhle@maustermuhle.bsky.social

Today President Trump signed the resolution approved by Congress that repeals a D.C. bill that decoupled the local tax code from some provisions of the federal tax code. It's only the fifth time in the last 50 years that a D.C. bill has been repealed by Congress.
