After careful consideration we've decided to stop advertising on Facebook and Instagram (and, by extension, Threads). Ads on Meta platforms were a big source of traffic for our Editor Picks and Community stories as well as new artist signups, but it's been difficult to square giving cash to these

On this Tuesday, October 20th, lovers of What We Do In the Shadows and Scott Pilgrim may be happy to hear that a brand new queer, loser-core vampire romance is going to hit the scene running. Be My Renfield! Coming Tuesday! #indieauthor #halloween #mmromance #vampireromance

I was checking out at a store and the cashier asked a question about my account to a colleague ("she has...") and I was so brave and said "he, actually" and the cashier apologized, thanked me, and before I could even be pleased with myself, carried on "they need..." I think I'm done for the day.

Though for anyone wondering, this is DEgendering, which is a bit different from misgendering and also different from calling someone "they" when you're not sure, until you find out (which ideally you should promptly do). "What are their pronouns?" "She." "OK! She told me..." = not offensive to me.

Frankly when a trans person corrects you about their pronouns these days, when everything is so scary and difficult, be honored. Don't explain yourself, don't self-flaggelate, just say "thank you!" Then carry on and use the right pronouns going forward. We're literally all so tired.

I really just shut down. Like I was so so so frustrated, but I didn't get mean. I think the cashier may have felt my switch from friendly to polite, but I'm just too tired to explain it to her today. Maybe a different day I would have, but I have glassblowing to do. I don't have time for this.

it would be fun if the Ringo movie was a fanciful odyssey where he stumbles into a magic oz/narnia style realm populated by little jim henson freaks and must farcically bumble his way back home but the rest of the movies are normal biopics

Sony is considering releasing all 4 ‘BEATLES’ biopics on the same day in April 2028. Another idea being considered is offering a 4-pack of tickets to encourage fans to buy tickets to all 4 films at once. (Source: www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie...)

I just made a formal complaint to the BBC about this. If you'd like to do the same, here's the link: www.bbc.co.uk/contact/comp...

Bethany wore a “Protect The Dolls” t-shirt during rehearsals. The BBC posted it on their socials then quietly deleted and reposted it without showing her from the front. On TV last night they actually blurred the message #Strictly

Today I learned that my boyfriend had never seen The Gashlycrumb Tinies by Edward Gorey, so I grabbed my copy off the shelf for him to thumb through. What follows is a transcript of him reading it. "Oh no." [Turns page.] "Oh nooo." [Turns page.] "OH NO!" [Repeat to end.] "That was...grim..."

I was tempted to pirate HP, curiosity and all that. But @jessiegender.bsky.social is right - think of the amount of times HBO commented on GOT leaks and downloads, just as an example. They DO track these things, and even that drives interest. Let this show die. Trans people deserve better.
