I’ve been looking at adhd tattoos and so many people get a face with chaotic squiggles for the mind. I get that, but that feels like focusing on the negative, and I want to celebrate the creative leaps and varied interests. Or maybe I’ll just get a squirrel.

This would be a great time if anyone wants to reach out. Just found out my hours are being cut back for the rest of the year. I can work within your budget. Reposts appreciated.

I'm looking to make art! Anyone need a pretty cover for one of your upcoming books/Anthologies/chapbooks/etc? I love working with indie authors and also with presses. Here are a few Science Fiction examples I've worked up recently. Either DM me here or contact me through addi.studio And please RT!

I love Asimov's Science Fiction and the magazine's editors. I've published many stories in the magazine. I subscribe to the magazine. Despite that, I'm done with the new MRM owners. This statement is BS. The new owners have squandered the goodwill of their magazines' readers, writers, and fans. 1/

From our publisher:

The situation with Must Read Media is both ludicrously complicated and very simple. They come from a world where everyone is shitty and backstabbing as a matter of course. To them, business is about fucking people over. And our entire community is saying no and showing them the door.

This is the way the publishing industry has always worked. I'm not aware of anyone, anywhere having sued over it. It's a pretty normal way of doing business for us, and I just don't see what problem MRM is purporting to fix with this, beyond simply justifying an overly rights-grabby contract.

You are allowed to be excited about things other people don't understand. The book. The fandom. The hobby. The seasonal decoration that absolutely did not need to come home with you. Enthusiasm is not embarrassing. Being delighted by something is actually pretty great. 🧡

I decided to undertake a delusional project to write a piece of weird media criticism every day for the month of October! Disregarding that I'm already a day behind, I hope you'll follow along with me as I explore some great works of weird media across various formats!

strangeisthenight.substack.com31-ish Days of Weird CriticismAn ink drawing or horror movie a day was too easy. Instead, I’m kicking off a delusional attempt to write about a piece of weird media every day for the month of October.

State of Decay (Out 3/2) -- Snag it for .99! From post apocalyptic and dystopian futures to ordinary people facing extraordinary threats, each story offers a glimpse into worlds where survival comes at a cost and humanity is tested in unexpected ways. Check out the cool cover art by @addi.social!

I’m going to work on some more premade book covers this weekend! Anyone have a theme they want me to tackle? 👀

I added some Premade Book Covers to my website! :D $75 for ebook +$50 to add print. Contact form on my website! addi.studio/premades/

A coworker read one of my stories and wanted to talk to me about what it meant and like, dude, I don’t know it was just a vibe. I basically said “ftge story isn’t complete until the reader interprets it” and disappeared in a puff of smoke.

Reminder: we turn off the submission queue at the end of the day tomorrow (00:00 UTC; 8:00 PM EDT). Last chance to send us your poetry, short stories, or non-fiction pitches. And remember folks:

Hey guys! Long time no see! Or at least it feels that way since I’ve devoted all my time to eating delicious fish (#ad #sponsored). You should also eat fish! They are weird and scaly and taste like magic! Anyway, on with the obituary! #EatFish

You guys missed out on some cool art. I made a piece last night and posted it to a discord for funsies to share. Someone snapped it up for their book cover lol.

This is the number I came to recently for myself. If I didn’t have a car I would be very comfortable financially. Maybe someday I can make that a reality.

This story buries the lede, but if you pull out a calculator and do the math, AAA found that the average American spends $15,031 a year for a single car! www.cnbc.com/2026/09/14/c...

Guys, I think I might be an artist. This is a word with shifting goals for me. I’ve sold 130 stories, but I consider writing a craft not an art. I design book covers for people, but that’s design, not art. I’ve never been comfortable calling myself an artist, basically because I can’t draw.

Yesterday I created an original piece from shapes and textures and a hundred layers of whimsy. It wasn’t a book cover. It was entirely for fun. When I shared it with someone they loved it and bought it for their upcoming collection. I think even my habit of moving goal lines has to admit it now.
