This is so very sad. He was a character powerhouse and just seemed like a great guy

Don’t believe a poll that has Democrats ahead any more than you believe a poll that has us behind. 26 days until Election Day. Run through the tape.

I have to say I'm disappointed to learn that Steve walks warily down the street. I always thought that Steve walked weirdly down the street. I've been hearing that wrong for 46 years. #lyrics #anotheronebitesthedust #queen

Mitch McConnell disappeared for three months & kept his full salary. Disabled people are forced to prove they’re “still disabled” just to remain in legislated poverty. Folks on SNAP must re-apply and prove they’re “still poor”. Republican Senators don’t even have to prove they’re alive.

I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful

THE US HAVING A WHITES-ONLY REFUGEE POLICY SHOULD BE A MUCH BIGGER STORY

BREAKING: in June 2026, *every single one* of the 1,062 refugees admitted in the U.S. were white South Africans. In FY 2026, the U.S. has admitted a total of 7,727 white South Africans, three Afghans (back in November), and nobody else. For reference, the U.S. admitted 100,060 refugees in 2024.

People are missing the point. It is not that the phrase Trump insisted be on new passports confirms that he doesn't know what a passport is. It's that for a year not one person who works for him was willing to tell him so. They will remain cowards when he declares martial law.

Apparently I'm at the age when I go to see my best friend spin some obscure idm at a tiny vinyl bar but spend most of my time there talking about public schools and bird songs and which drugs we used to be able to do but can't any more because the recovery time is too long. Ahhh getting old.

When Hitler fell, the purging of that mindset wasn’t de-Hitlerification, it was de-Nazification. When Saddam fell, it wasn’t de-Saddamification, it was de-Baathification. When Trump falls, it will be de-MAGAfication, not de-Trumpification. The entire movement’s hatred and corruption must be purged.

"He tells it the way it is” said Rehder who voted for Trump in all three presidential elections “You may not like it, and you might not agree with it, but he tells it the way he wants it. I’m not saying I agree with him all the time but he don’t beat around the bush” www.nbcnews.com/politics/eco...

nbcnews.comFarmers in Iowa are struggling in Trump’s economy, but many say they still support himNBC News spoke to 13 farmers across Iowa this week. Eleven voted for Trump in the past and still largely back him, hoping “to God,” as one put it, “that he follows through” on his promises by the end ...

This is still their go-to reason to support Trump. Because he doesn't speak like a regular politician. It doesn't matter that he speaks like an old person with dementia or that his actions are criminal or that his policies actively hurt them. They just like his brain dribblings.

Thanks to whatever random British YouTube video that introduced me to the concept of a dead hedge. I just spent a few hours making this. Now I have a slightly more orderly pile of sticks, branches, and twigs.

And let me be clear: I have yet to see anyone at a Congressional oversight hearing ask one person at DOJ about the fact of that Renee Good’s death is not being investigated. It is wild; it is as if everyone, including Democrats in Congress, is assuming her death is being investigated.
