i will say that we have never experienced anything like an administration trying to essentially freeze the activities of the entire federal government while making a series of illegal power grabs. genuinely unclear to me what kind of response, if any, these guys are generating against them

this is an illegal order. the president does not have the legal authority to discriminate against entire categories of americans on the basis of sex. this order is no different than if he had issued one reinstituting segregation.

It never was about those things, but it has never been this blatant. I tend to stay even-keeled about this stuff. I am not alarmist, I report the news as accurately as possible. But the language is scary. It is precisely the dehumanizing language used to justify atrocity.
