this is a real bummer. baby's first moba yada yada but this game made sense to me in a way no other moba i've been dragged into by friends ever did (until deadlock lol). the GaaS muck absolutely choked the life out of this one, and i think the game on the other side of it all deserved better

idk how the genre titans are monetised (skins?) but surely it's not as suffocating as unite was. for as much as i enjoyed the double digit playtime i put into that game, in no world is it worth trudging through that monetisation hell for gameplay that simple. evidently that was the consensus, RIP

new guy at the chinese place i frequent has ai generated chinese sad boy beats to study to open on his phone for the whole world to see

kinda feels like i phoned this one in. it's catchup from yesterday, when i just couldn't summon the energy to draw. istg i better lock in for day 26

listening to cds instead of vinyls will have you in a state of constant doublethink where $35aud four track eps are fine because at least it's not vinyl prices (sob) gentrified glorified collectable ass hobby (whimper) those suckers. while also cursing all the cool shit for only releasing on vinyl

the real concern is that she's playing it on this. it's like having a portable drug dealer in your pocket 24/7

wife, next to me in bed: should i be worried about never hearing from you again because you’re addicted to Factorio?

Mike "The two Half-Life games... well, one Half-Life game 😅" Morasky strikes again. they're putting him in a cube for this

LambdaGeneration@lambdageneration.com

Codename "HLX" (rumored to be Half-Life 3) was publicly mentioned for the first time by Valve employee Mike Morasky in a Q&A session.

I'm telling you dude it's the age of loser dipshits. This whole tech sector, from the chatbots to the art generation to the voices, is built on this idea that being good at stuff is stupid and lame and somehow by not getting to enjoy the same praise skilled people do you are being denied or slighted

The first genuinely honest ad for generative AI I've ever seen, from Microsoft / CoPilot A mediocre white guy sees his non-white colleague getting praised for good work, he asks AI to *literally copy it*, and then he gets all the praise instead: www.ispot.tv/ad/SoDi/micr...

this breaks my heart to admit because i was so excited for the game, but fortune's weave might be on the shelf for a while. i'm stretched thin atm (my own fault mostly) and just not in the right headspace for a triple digit rpg that purposefully makes so much of its cool shit easily missable

the persona comparisons fe3h and fefw get are apt imo because this is a huge part of why i bounced off p5r, i hate feeling the need to check a guide to see if i'm playing the game right, lest i unknowingly fall into a lesser experience

this wasn't an issue for me at all in fe3h because individual routes are the size of a normal rpg and subsequently very inviting to play and replay, but when i'm staring down a fuck off 200 hour mega game, i'd like a complete and steady experience the first time around thanks!

i tried making peace with the fact that i wouldn't see everything but man that's a hard pill to swallow rn. playing with a guide or notes is dreadfully unfun (if i wanted to constantly look down at steps and numbers i would go bake smth) so i just don't pick up the switch. save me dlc patches

sometimes i give an earnest reply to an angry question on reddit and it immediately becomes apparent that nothing i say will ever get through to the OP and they just want to have a seething circlejerk with their fellow thought terminated redditors and i suddenly remember why i don't like reddit

this completely worthless interaction will fade from my memory and the lesson will need to be learned again when i open the site sometime in the next 6-12 months

"Indie animation will save the industry" always read as "people making stuff largely for pennies through passion alone will give me more things to watch". The only thing that can save animation is actually paying animators and consumers willing to pay for things that aren't on youtube.

playing catchup with this one.. i absolutely crashed when we got back to the hotel room last night. i'm hunched over in a dark corner of the arcade sakura wanted to go to, scribbling like my life depends on it before my tablet dies. ideal inktober conditions tbh

just saw a beautiful tableau on the corner outside the cinema, a young woman scraping the bottom of her popcorn bucket while her boyfriend(?) awkwardly rambled about helen of troy being played by a black woman. she was staring daggers. "well i thought it was good." he kept going. we walked away

it felt like such a "some shit someone would make up at peak odyssey discourse" scene that it rang hollow when i didn't epically own him, tell the girl to leave him and drown in the applause of clapping strangers
